Not for EMT-B!!!

Though this book does have good information, it has details that are far above the level of an EMT-B. I would not use this for review for the NREMT- EMTB.

Best Study guide yet!

This was actually better than I thought after reading some of the reviews! I’ve been doing this almost a decade & courtesy of Covid my nremt lapsed so I now need to retrain my brain to pass this test. Whether you know it or not, the field isn’t the same as what they say happens in the field. As an ems professional, you’ll learn that there isn’t such thing as learning too much/outside your scope. When I was a basic I was held to a medic standard even during my internship. Also.. having already taken this test I was pretty excited to have recognized a couple few of these questions!! Even with as long as it’s been 😁

Levels

This book has plenty of great information for the aspiring EMS professional, however it would've been a little more helpful if the information was sectioned according to scope of practice.

Good but too much detail for NREMT

A lot of the information in this book goes way beyond what is needed to pass the NREMT test

Not for EMT-B!

I wish that had been made clear somewhere- anywhere! I think this is Paramedic level? Maybe AEMT. It never says. But it is definitely not EMT-B!

WAY to advanced for NREMT

It goes a lot more in depth that is necessary for the NREMT, and therefore is largely a waste of time if that’s strictly what you’re going to use it for. Great information and content if you’re ALREADY an EMT.

least helpful resource

Out of all of the study tools I utilized while preparing for the exam, this was, by far, the least helpful. Most of the information I found to by irrelevant or a bit too much in detail for the NREMT. I did exceptionally well on the exam and passed the first time but this book definitely did not assist in the process. Perhaps if the questions and answers were explained rather than stated so the student could get a feel for the style of logic needed for the NREMT exam questions, this would've been a much better tool.

Outside scope of practice!

I'm not sure how anyone would learn from this and by the cardiac chapter, it became very apparent that the information is past the scope of practice of an EMT.
