Ever since the dust storms arrived and turned her world upside down, ambitious Stella Fischer spends her mornings hiding moonshine in laundry stacks for delivery before returning home to help her sisters—Lavinia and Mattie—run their family home turned boarding house, hoping to make enough money to finally escape to Hollywood. She has no time for distractions, especially from Lloyd, the handsome drifter who works as a hired hand at the boarding house.

When the group decides to forage for building materials at an abandoned cider mill, they discover a magical passage that sends them back to the mill in its prime. There, they meet Archie, a man trapped in the realm who can conjure lavish parties and bring back a world of joy and splendor. But Archie isn’t all he seems, and Stella must discover the truth before a storm more deadly than dust destroys her and everyone she loves.

Fairy Tale Done Right

I am usually cautious about fairytale retellings because it’s my favorite genre, and so easily done wrong. But Andrea knows what she’s doing, her TikToks convinced me to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. This was an incredibly well done book and I finished it in a day, the character development, the story, having it reflect back to the original work was great. I also loved that her protagonist wasn’t always right, she made mistakes and learned from them. She lead us down a path and had a great twist ending. 10/10

Outstanding details and narration

Author Andrea Lynn does an outstanding job with her vivid storytelling and descriptive details, taking us back to the dust storm error of the Dirty 30s, as well as to a magical “other world.” The audio narration is also extremely well done and entertaining.

Absolutely spellbound!

I fell so deep into this story that I was actually late to work! So good!
