Acerca de esta escucha

Fifty-six hard years after the events of The Machine Crusade, after the death of Serena Butler, the bloodiest decades of the Jihad take place. The human worlds begin to hope that the end of the centuries-long conflict with the thinking machines is finally in sight.

Unfortunately, Omnius has one last, deadly card to play. In a last-ditch effort to destroy humankind, virulent plagues are let loose throughout the galaxy, decimating the populations of whole planets. The war that has lasted many lifetimes will be decided in the apocalyptic Battle of Corrin.

In the greatest battle of science fiction history, human and machine face off one last time....And on the desert planet of Arrakis, the legendary Fremen of Dune become the feared fighting force to be discovered by Paul Maud'Dib in Frank Herbert's classic, Dune.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Dune addicts will happily devour Herbert and Anderson's spicy conclusion to their second prequel trilogy." ( Publishers Weekly)

Featured Article: Dune (2021)—Book vs. Movie

The very first book to win the Nebula Award, Frank Herbert's Dune has long been a fixture of the sci-fi world. It's no surprise, then, that yet another filmmaker has taken a stab at bringing this classic to the screen. The latest effort, by Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve, captures the first half of the epic novel. The reviews have been generally positive, with critics and audiences blown away by the scale and sheer ambition of the adaptation. Overall, Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation of Herbert's sci-fi classic is quite faithful. But in what small ways does the film differ from the book?

Extensive Worldbuilding • Complex Characters • Fascinating Backstory • Engaging Plotlines • Satisfying Conclusion

i am filling in the gaps between each book with Tales of Dune. They jave done a great job with keeping with the Legacy of his original works and bringing so much to the over all arc of Dune. Onto the Sisterhood of Dune

Enjoying the progression

The battle of corrin answered a lot of questions i had after jumping into the series at Dune(2021). I'm excited to start the next book and fill in more blanks.

Another great read/listen

I am working my way through the prequels having also listened to the original Dune stories on here, and this was so far the best of them all…
Immersive, complex and paced it lays the ground the divide in the two central houses that would last for generations whilst completing the storyline of the thinking machine history and their thousand year rein…

Excellent reading throughout as one has come to expect from Scott Brick. I am already looking forward to the opportunity to listen to it all again, just not until after completing the series first…

So far the best of all the DUNE books

I just finished this book and once again I’m amazed by this writing team. Herbert & Anderson breathe life into their characters and cleverly reveal the origins of the many concepts we adored in the original Dune series. Ever wonder how the cute navigators in the Spacing Guild originated? Curious about the conditions that prompted the formation of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood? Listen and find out!
The narrator Scott Brick is a one-man ensemble. I’ve listened to several of his readings and I’m continually astounded he can create such a wide range of diverse characters. He makes the reader truly believe in the characters. I only wish the story was much, much longer; I didn’t want it to end. I suggest you read all the Dune prequels in order, then conclude with this one. It’s one of the best purchases you’ll ever make.

At the risk of committing sci-fi sacrilege, I’d say Herbert & Anderson’s works are even better than Frank Herbert’s original Dune series. They’re THAT good.

Another Amazing Production by Herbert & Anderson!

I have always been a sci fi fan. I didn't know what I was missing. I have been lost in the dunes for months now.

It's a good, complete story with a vast number of characters and subplots, but it's too long for easy listening.

It's still too long

I thought the ending was good and the whole book was well written. I am going to start the next book in the series next week.

Enjoyed the book

Enjoyed it. Learned why all the stories of the past lead to Dune and what causes the rise of the great houses.

Great
