I'm a 58 year old car junky and I loved this book. A couple of chapters are slow, but I loved this book. It was great.

Must listen for Gearheads

Loved it! A must read/listen if your a Gearhead! A true story of the good old days of the American car scene

Crazy Car Man! P.J. O'Rourke is great!

All my experience with P.J. O'Rourke books had been about politics or social commentary. This book literally takes a different highway to hilarity! Disengage from the rat race and join P.J. on a Baja adventure, driving with children and driving like crazy in India.
A fun journey!

Classic O'Rourke

Witty, intelligent, a little crude in his earlier writings, but this is the pattern of all of O'Rourke's compilations. (The book gathers some thirty plus years of his magazine writing.) If you like P.J. then you'll love this book. If you've never read any of his work then this is a good place to start.

He's an unapologetic car lover who likes cars for cars' sake. Not pretentiously selecting out just his favorite make or style, but he likes cars, and conveys this across the entirety of the book.

I am 54 tomorrow...

Gotta' love this. P.J. for anyone...especially those who see him on some spot on the political spectrum. Pure fun. Even if you aren't of the same general age.

Why is he so proud of being an idiot?

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Men maybe. I'm not a prude but the first 3 chapters were stupid and the 4th chapter was boring. Haven't finished probably won't.Real disapointed I used my credit for such a dud.
