Reseñas editoriales

This classic work from the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, delves into the meanings and interpretations of dreams, and narrator Keneth Maxem keeps it accessible to listeners with his conversational and friendly tone. Freud believed that dreams were a source of insight into the unconscious mind, and his theories uncover their hidden meanings, many of which stem from repressed sexual desire. Maxem uses a thoughtful, questioning approach that eases listeners into the text and neatly smooths over the jargon in Freud's work, at the same time highlighting the importance of dreams to our mental wellbeing.

Author keeps repeating words, fails to convey the main subject and facts. Has some really curioso observations, but I keep zooming out. Not for me.

Freud was obsessed with sexual repression, which was probably a reflection of his time and social and class environment . the concept that there is an entity that while it is selfconscious and rules and drives the rational mind, but that it is unaccesable to the rational mind is intriguing and paradoxical, what is the self?

what is consciousness?

It felt like all the info was long, that I needed a Master’s degree to understand, and felt like it would put me to sleep or give me a headache.

It's really hard to listen to the lector. Monotonic voice makes it almost impossible to focus on the story.
