About this listen

The battle against a vengeful goddess reaches a climactic point as Lily Yu must now face the ultimate challenge in a dangerous new realm - without her husband, Rule....

When a mission to rescue five children stolen by an Old One falls apart under the assault of a demon prince, Lily wakes up in a strange reality - and is immediately taken captive by the dragon spawn who rule there. Jumping worlds has fractured her party, and Cynna is her only companion.

Although the clock is ticking, time works differently, and Lily has miraculously gained a week. That means seven days to free herself, find Rule and the others, rescue the children, and make it home alive. All before the dragon spawn holding her hostage trade her to the Old One. It would almost be doable if this weren’t Lóng Jia - also known as Dragonhome: the birthplace of dragons.

I loved it!

I loved it so much I’m sad there isn’t a book 15 in the series for me to download. I adore this series! I read books 1 - 12 and listened to books 13 & 14. If you like Patricia Briggs, Iliana Andrews, Anne Bishop, KF Breene, Faith Hunter, etc… you will not be disappointed. I rarely if ever re-read books but I am planning on purchasing the audible versions of books 1 through 12…..🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻Hopefully book 15 will be available after I finish listening to those books. Thanks for the great storytelling and wonderful acting!

Another Great Entry

This one is solid. As with the last entry, the addition of new characters and the story development were handled really well. The author did a fantastic job combining multiple ongoing arcs in a supremely satisfying way.

For the most part, the voice acting was equally well done. There were moments where the main foils in this entry and Lily were engaged in philosophical conversations that felt forced. It reminded me of Vizzini from The Princess Bride, during the cup scene when he’s posturing about which cup he should drink from, except where Vizzini’s over-enunciated, “Ah, but if…” shenanigans were meant to be pompous silliness to the observer, the discussions in the audiobook were meant to be a serious conversation. Some of the Chinese accents also felt forced and unnatural. However, most of the performances were outstanding. This entry also has a good balance of special effects.
