Publisher's summary

An unabridged edition of the horror classic read by Golden Globe winner Edward Woodward.

Count Dracula travels from his castle in the Carpathian mountains to England on a ship in which the entire crew is lost. Upon his arrival, the count entrances Lucy Westenra and Mina Harker, both women doomed to become vampires—unless Jonathan Harker and Professor Abraham Van Helsing can stop Dracula. This unabridged recording of a horror masterpiece brilliantly evokes a nightmare world of vampires and vampire hunters and illuminates the dark corners of Victorian sexuality and desire.

Incredible novel and performance

What a fantastic journey this novel makes. There are some odd gender stereotypes, but this is unsurprising as this novel was written in the late 19th century.

Surprisingly good

This performance was surprisingly good.

Having heard several other audio productions of this story, I was very impressed. Never once did I turn it off, because it was boring, or lackuster.

There were times when I had to back up some of the dialog, so I could pay closer attention to what "Professor Van Helding" was saying. The foreign accent was that strong.

And so too was the dialects of some of the poor and illiterate English, and especially a line Scotsman, who brought was so ridiculously strong?

That I just gave up on understanding, what he was saying. Illiterate and heavy Scottish brouge.

That was a bit much. But otherwise?

Very well done. Take a bow, Simon Vance! ❤️
