Publisher's summary
Ready with his black bag, Dr Finlay sets out to remedy all manner of ailments suffered by his patients in the Scottish Highland town of Levenford.
In this complete BBC Radio collection, we meet the surprising Dr Finlay as he is welcomed to the practise with a black eye. Over the course of these series the early years of Dr Finlay are explored, as he gets to grips with the locals in the Scottish Highland town of Levenford. His patients range from the stingiest and most cunning widow in Scotland to a pantomime actress, and from a hen-pecked husband who disappears to the wife of a football hero. Then there are the Scobie sisters, who have managed to live together for fifteen years without speaking. Finlay tackles them all with compassion and his trademark Scottish humour.
Starring John Gordon Sinclair as Scotland's most celebrated doctor, along with Brian Pettifer, Celia Imrie, David Tennant and Stella Gonet.

What would happen if a shy introvert lived like a gregarious extrovert for one year? If she knowingly and willingly put herself in perilous social situations that she’d normally avoid at all costs? Writer Jessica Pan intends to find out. With the help of various extrovert mentors, Jessica sets up a series of personal challenges (talk to strangers, perform stand-up comedy, host a dinner party, travel alone, make friends on the road, and much, much worse) to explore whether living like an extrovert can teach her lessons that might improve the quality of her life.

Story
Hilarious, fascinating, and a roller coaster of dizzying, historical what-ifs, Napoleon's Hemorrhoids is a potpourri for serious historians and casual history buffs. In one of Phil Mason's many revelations, you'll learn that Communist jets were two minutes away from opening fire on American planes during the Cuban missile crisis, when they had to turn back as they were running out of fuel. You'll discover that before the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon's painful hemorrhoids prevented him from mounting his horse to survey the battlefield.

Story
Myrna, Leonie, and Chrissy meet every Thursday to sample fine cheeses, to reminisce about their former lives as professors, and lately, to muse about murder. Decades ago, a vicious cabal of male poets contrived—quite publicly and successfully—to undermine the writing career, confidence, and health of their dear friend Fern. Now, after Fern has taken a turn for the worse, her three old friends decide that it’s finally time to strike back—in secret, of course, since Fern is far too gentle to approve of a vendetta.

Story
A delightfully funny, fantastically inventive collection of twenty unearthed short stories by Sir Terry Pratchett, the award-winning and bestselling author and creator of the phenomenally successful Discworld fantasy series. These rediscovered tales were written by Terry Pratchett under a pseudonym for British newspapers during the 1970s and 1980s. The stories have never been attributed to him until now, and might never have been found—were it not for the efforts of a few dedicated fans.

British nostalgia from a respected period writer
If this were a mystery, it would encapsulate the cozy genre. It has everything: small Scottish town, faithful servants, local characters and a wry observation of the quirks of the human condition. Beautifully broadcast, it is a gem of the BBC storytelling, revealing the events in the life of a idealistic Scottish country doctor.

An inviting and engrossing radio program.
At last the complete collection is available. The characters and vignettes in this series are always full of old-fashioned charm, humor, and sometimes sadness. I grew to really love the various characters (brought to life by a fabulous cast) and found myself invested in their lives and stories. Well worth the listen!
