About this listen

Reese

God, I never meant to get pregnant - especially not by him. A cold, cruel, downright violent alpha? I never wanted that, but here I am broke, homeless, and expecting this psychopath's baby.

It's pure dumb luck that my baby lands in the arms of a gorgeous and protective alpha doctor that seems to have an eye for me, too.

Is this what I want? Do I want to fall into the safety of Connor's embrace? Or should I run while I still have the chance - before my son's father finds us?

Connor

I've delivered thousands of babies. So why do I go all gooey when this little guy grabs my finger? Why do I find myself staying over his incubator as if I'm his guardian?

I never meant to find a mate. I'm married to my job - but this baby's daddy is the hottest omega I've ever seen in my life. There's no way I'll be able to keep a professional distance with these two.

Seems like they're both down on their luck, especially with a dangerous alpha lurking in their past. Maybe I can give them a hand up.

The steamy 50,000-word treat is just what the doctor ordered. Blossoming romance, hot sex scenes, and mpreg lie ahead. This is for adults only, 18 years of age and older, please!

confusing

I love the story, but it was confusing. Reese had a female voice, but kept referring her as him. Also to add males having children, well, did not make sense.

Shifters

I must admit I was confused at first. Well I started listening to this audiobook and realised it was not what I expected. It was good enough to keep me listening. I thought It was a MFM storyline. This is a M/M book about shifters. Reese is a pregnant male! (Still confused as to how a male is pregnant.) Dr. Connor is "married" to his job, he falls in love with the baby (A male shifter's baby). Things are going well until... someone from Reese's past comes onto the scene. M/M books are not my thing, but I couldn't stop... No matter how confusing it got. I understand fantasy storyline are just that, fantasy.
I received this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Loved it

Loved it. Preston Walker did an outstanding job with his writing.
Homeless, pregnant, and trying to stay away from the baby's father. Car accident on way to hospital are just the start of this twisted story.
Arthur J Hoyt did a super job.

Not Bad for my First MPEG book...

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Doctors Orders is a very interesting shifter romance and I would recommend having some familiarity with MPEG and Alpha/Omega romances before diving it - this was my first and I found myself a bit lost and confused over certain aspects and terminology included in the story. Other than that, the plot is super angsty (not in a bad way), a bit sweet, and entertaining. I was super shocked when I saw that the dual first person POV was performed by one person - he does an excellent job of differentiating between the two main characters, as well as using different tones and voices for the secondary characters. I don't know if I'll be reading any more books in this genre (just a personal preference), but I did enjoy this one. 2.75 out of 5 wine glasses.

Doctors Orders: A Two Daddies Romance

Reese thought he was safe but when the alpha that got him pregnant comes back to town unexpectantly Reese runs and ends up giving birth prematurely. As he and the baby are recuperating in the hospital Reese meets Connor a doctor at the hospital and the two quickly feel a connection. Will Reese be able to escape from the father of the baby and find something special with Connor?

This story pulled me in in the beginning, but I had a hard time connecting with both men at times. For being a young man living on the streets Reese seemed very naive at times and continues to make wrong decisions. Connor is a good man with a big heart, but he did not seem to have a strong personality. It would have been nice to learn more about his past pack or family, the way it was mentioned in the story I thought there would be more to that part of his life and how it affected his behavior now. Reese and Connor are sweet together and seeing the interaction with the baby as a family was cute. Love and trust is earned in this story and it was nice to see the two fight for it.

The Narrator

I actually like this story a lot. I can see from the reviews that a lot of people that reviewed this had not read mpreg books before and so they were not prepared for a man being pregnant. I actually love this genre and this book is a nice addition to it.

I believe I have heard this narrator before, but can't be sure. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. The characters were distinct and I loved listening to Connor's character. The only thing that really stuck out to me was the narrator's pronunciation of the word 'baby'. It was so adorable. It is actually what made me get this book in the first place. I listened to the sample and heard Arthur J Holt saying 'baby' and I was like, I have to listen to this book.

All in all this is a cute story in the Mpreg world and I enjoyed reading it. I have read other Preston Walker books and I will read more.

I think that maybe some people need to read the descriptions or summaries of the books before they read them sometimes so they are not surprised by things like it being M/M and Mpreg.

Great read. I enjoyed.

Well developed

This was given to me via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I am not a fan on m/m but the story was well developed and had lots of twists and character development. The narrator was also good for the story. It is a shifter story where the male can get pregnant.

I shift you not...

We open on an innocent and scared gamma named Reese. Now Reese is a good shifter with a great heart, just living in bad situations. Pregnant Reese stays at his ex lovers place till he is able to give birth and leave, all the while begging that his lover does not return... and he does.. and Reese sees something that will change how he fully feels.

A few plot points insue...

Now we are with Connor, the alpha with a heart of gold who uses his Alpha hearing and skills to be a Dr and deliver babies. No understanding why but there is just this one baby that speaks to his heart, that makes him think.. my baby..

Reese's Baby daddy finds out about the baby and will do anything to get it back, except brush his teeth apparently or be a nice person...this is where the story turns dramatically before the conclusion..

I liked the story line, it was sweet and surprised me when it didn't go exactly as I thought. Voice acting was good, I love when you get distinct voices for each character, at least main ones. Now I don't know if the world is aware of shifters, its never expressed, but when in wolf form they have to hide so I got lost... Some back story to the world would be nice.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audio book by the author, narrator, or publisher, and it's my honest opinion because I read reviews as well and wanna know if a book is worth my time...

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like about the story? good pace, well written, good character development and an interesting story.
I liked that although homeless and on the run, Reese is determined to give his baby the best life he can and Connor has a huge heart,

Narrator comment: Arthur J Hout has done a good job narrating Doctor's Orders. I had no problem distinguishing characters or feeling the emotions of the story. I enjoyed the audio experience.
