The Great Time War has raged for centuries, ravaging the universe. Scores of human colony planets are now overrun by Dalek occupation forces. A weary, angry Doctor leads a flotilla of Battle TARDISes against the Dalek stronghold but in the midst of the carnage, the Doctor's TARDIS crashes to a planet below: Moldox.
As the Doctor is trapped in an apocalyptic landscape, Dalek patrols roam amongst the wreckage, rounding up the remaining civilians. But why haven't the Daleks simply killed the humans?
Searching for answers the Doctor meets 'Cinder', a young Dalek hunter. Their struggles to discover the Dalek plan take them from the ruins of Moldox to the halls of Gallifrey, and set in motion a chain of events that will change everything. And everyone.
Read by Nicholas Briggs, the 'voice of the Daleks' in Doctor Who, this epic novel of the Great Time War features the War Doctor as played by John Hurt in the hit BBC TV series. Reading produced by Neil Gardner.Sound design by Simon Hunt.Executive producer: Michael Stevens.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. If that friend is a fan of Doctor Who, this story has all of the necessities to make them happy. The characterization of the War Doctor is wonderful. He is obviously the Doctor but has his own personality and thanks to the excellent narration the doctor is present throughout the story. What other book might you compare Doctor Who: Engines of War to and why?
I actually can't compare any. I have listed to some other Who books, but this one by far does justice to our Favorite Time Lord.Have you listened to any of Nicholas Briggs’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, Briggs is a master. I have heard him do Pratchett on several occasions. He just does not miss a beat. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Wanted to probably. However, I had to listen to it in gulps as I traveled around to work sites.Any additional comments?
This story fits right alongside the Fiftieth anniversary. It is a testament to good writing and incredible narration. Highly recommended!George Mann knows Who
