Story was captivating, the narration was excellent

I could not stop listening to this audiobook. It was my treat, like a secret stash of candy. I love the narration. I felt like I was in the bayou sitting in with the Ya-Yas.

Insightful

I delighted in listening to this wonderful portrayal of the characters in this engaging story. I missed reading it years ago and deep cleaned my china cabinet, closets and bookcases while engrossed in this amazing tale of loss and redemption . A perfect listening novel.

The Performance Worthy of an Oscar

This narrator has to be the single best I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. He acting and annunciation was DIVINE.

Multi-generational bayou family tale.

I love the way Rebecca Wells weaves together 3 generations of family through the eyes is Sidda-Lee. Sidda, with her modern, artistic sensibilities has trouble relating to her mother who is over dramatic and overbearing. With the help of the Ya-Yas, Sidda learns who Vivi Abbott Walker really is. While on this journey, she also begins to understand herself. Set against the background of the Louisiana bayou, the remarkable lives of the Ya-Yas come to life.

Love the book and the movie. After having seen the movie numerous time, I kept hearing the characters as the actors and actresses from the movie.

Laughed & cried & had a southern drawl with a Cajun twist by the time I finished listening to all the Sisters lol! Great performance!

Description of scenes, feelings, life and living

I’m never one for “in-depth” sex scene descriptions, and this one just tripped a bit across my comfort level, but overall not grimacing so. I like the reality of life’s hurts and wounds mixed with the joy, healing, disregard of self wants that demonstrates true friendship and sisterhood.

Mother and Daughters Don’t Have to Know Everything

This book is such a wonderful read. It can be slow in some parts, but it resonated so much in my heart and made me feel so seen in certain points.
