A sunny place for shady people.
Vacations can be murder, especially when you're Mercy Watts. She's trying to get away from it all, including her godmother's lawsuit and a certain situation with the mafia. So she heads to Roatan, Honduras, a place known for scuba diving and lawlessness. Mercy's on the island less than 24 hours when she discovers that she hasn't gotten away from anything. Her problems hitched a ride and increased tenfold. The deeper she dives, the more dangerous her vacation becomes. She must stop a murder or she'll be the next on the hit list.

If you could sum up Diver Down in three words, what would they be?
Kooky, Peril, FunWho was your favorite character and why?
Mercy is my favorite. She's relatable, smart, and imperfect. I love a character with flaws. What about Lyssa Browne’s performance did you like?
Everything. She's the perfect voice for Mercy and the rest of her crazy clan.Any additional comments?
I was very pleasantly surprised by the first novel and was glad to see that there were several more books in the series. The one thing I would point out as a downside to this book is that I don't love Aaron. I think I'm supposed to find him endearing but he's just annoying most of the time. Like a joke that went over so well the first time that the person keeps telling it over and over and over again. He was less irritating when Mercy wasn't fighting against him, but why do none of the people in her life recognize that no means no? She's an adult but no one treats her like one, and she certainly doesn't push the issue hard enough. That said, I still loved the book and I have just one real question and that's this: Why isn't the rest of the series available on Audible?

Even on vacation, Mercy and her mother, causes men’s head to turn and accidents. Her godmother makes a radical change in her physical appearance and her aunt finds her happiness. The twins are wonderful and I was disappointed they did not get more story time.
There are so many funny characters in the story, her dad, uncle, her god mother (Dixie), mother, twins, step-cousin (Garrett) and aunt. These people add such color and enjoyment to the story. Aaron the Yahoo swilling, hot dog munching-dough boy is hysterical. My disappointment is most them are only given cameos each story. Her father is used as a scare tactic or to issue orders. Garrett is only there to tease Mercy for a few seconds.
Despite the small parts of Mercy’s inner circle, this is truly a funny Mercy story.
I am saving 5 stars for this series, for when Mercy's inner circle get bigger parts.
Give me more!

I have a love/hate relationship with Mercy, but I find her desire to help and do the right thing keeps me coming back to the series. It was good to see how Aaron was more involved in this book, but I wish we could learn more about why the Watts family trusts him so much. I love how he is always there when you don’t expect him to be.
My two biggest issues with this book are still her parents. They are just not likable parents – Mercy doesn’t get her own life and they are very demanding on her time. They also keep her in the dark so much but get upset when she questions it. At her age, I would have already told my parents where to stick it. I also see a new romance coming for Mercy and I’m not happy that we are headed in that direction at all.
It will be interesting to see how the actions of Mercy in this book impact her life term because she made some drastic choices in this one and there is bound to be some impact from that. The narrator was consistent, and I like all the voices.
Too much "Murphy's Law" for me
