Elizabeth Bennett wasn’t who I was expecting, I have to say she surprised me.

When I first started reading I thought oh no another meek girl, but she wasn’t and I enjoyed that.

But I am a Declan fan through and through he stole my heart from the get go and wouldn’t let it go. I think his brother Dax’s its equally as hunky and I can’t wait to hop on to his book.. book people. :p

I like the back and forth with Elizabeth and Declan. I like that she wasn’t over eager she let it happen. Even if he was kinda eye .. watching her.. Stop with the dirty minds. :p

Also I havvvve to say it, the beating people up in books is totally hot! So Declan again scores another point for that. ❤

Loveddd the narration couldn’t get enough! Summer Morton, John Hartley really bring these characters to life, I am so glad they had a British or a male narrator who does a British accent well.

Spectacular narration!

I really enjoyed this book. I am a sucker for an English man!! Plus my favorite book of all time is Pride and Prejudice. So this was right up my alley. Declan is a beautiful man with an amazing heart! I fell right away in love with him. Then you throw Elizabeth in the mix. She is all kinds of messed up. But things between the two just get all hot and heavy. Then there are their issues. Once they finally get their act together. Everything falls into place!
Plus the narration is Spectacular!

Nice little romance. If only relationships were this perfect.

Are there really men like this?? I wonder if this is just women writing books about what they wish men were like or if they really exist. It would be nice

Great modernization!

I really loved this modernization of Pride and Prejudice! It’s one of my favorite stories. I could understand Elizabeth’s reluctance to start something with Declan, but I loved the way he persisted.

Mr. Darcy, Fight Club style

This is an easy new adult listen with interesting main characters and steamy scenes. John Hartley's narration is perfect and sexy. Summer Morton does a fine job, but the Elizabeth Bennett character is frustrating. Push-pull, hot-cold and all the "bad guys"are one-dimensional. Curious to listen to the next in the series.

Sweet Story

Gosh!! I love the characters in this book. Definitely one for the romantics. One of the sweetest books I've listened to in a minute.

The beginning of this book shook me. What a powerful start. It really grabs your attention. Declan seems like he would be a bad boy player to start. But you can quickly see that there is more beneath the surface. Elizabeth is a heroine that you can't help but root for. I was instantly enchanted by her and supportive of her. I wanted all the good things for her. She's smart and strong. And even after her trauma she still manages to be bold and blunt. I love that Elizabeth is not a push over. She may be a little broken but she does not let herself get pushed around.
I love the light hearted moments like when they dance in the rain. They were so sweet and helped to really make me love Elizabeth and Declan as a couple. This book did such a good job of balancing the dark, with the sweet with the steam.
The mother in this book is infuriating. I wanted to shake her and make her take care of her daughter and stop being so selfish. She made me boiling mad.
I did feel that the ending was a little too sweet and a bit rushed. But overall a good book. I enjoyed both narrators very much. The females English accent wasn't the best, but it was passable.

Great book, great audiobook and great narration.. This book will make you mad, then laugh and best of all "SIGH" wishing someone had said something like that to you..It is always a relief when one of your favorite books comes out in audio format and they got the narrators right.

Meh

The book was ok ... It was basically a Beautiful Disaster knock off with some references to Pride and Prejudice. If you're looking for a modern day retelling of P&P then you'll want to skip this one. Overall not bad but nothing special.
