About this listen

There is no simple strategic method for dealing with the multidimensional nature of digital change. Even the sharpest leaders can become disoriented as change builds on change, leaving almost nothing certain. Yet to stand still is to fail. Enterprises and leaders must remaster themselves to succeed. Leaders must identify the key macro forces then lead their organizations at three distinct levels: industry, enterprise, and self. By doing this they can not only survive but clean up.

Digital to the Core makes the case that all business leaders must understand the impact the digital revolution will continue to play in their industries, companies, and leadership styles and practices. Drawing on interviews with over 30 top C-level executives in some of the world's most powerful companies and government organizations, including GE, Ford, Tory Burch, Babolat, McDonald's, Publicis, and UK Government Digital Service, this audiobook delivers practical insights from those on the front lines of major digital upheaval. The authors incorporate Gartner's annual CIO and CEO global survey research and apply the deep knowledge and qualitative insights they have acquired as practitioners, management researchers, and advisors over decades in the business. Above all else, Raskino and Waller want companies and their top leaders to understand the full impact of digital change and integrate it at the cores of their businesses.

Good, thought-provoking book

I found a lot of good ideas in this book. Highly recommend for CIO's and CEO's that want to start pushing their digital initiatives. My only gripe is that the narrator CANNOT pronounce the word "digital", which given the subject, is sometimes humorous, but often just annoying and distracting. I would consider re-recording it. It's that bad.

Start your digital transformation

This book is the perfect guide for anyone struggling to articulate the need the digital transformation within the organization. Whether you're just starting out or you're a veteran change agent, Digital to the Core does an excellent job of organizing and presenting relevant information that every leader needs to not only no but thoroughly understand. As the book points out there's not a single business that is immune to the coming changes the digital era has already set in motion. I found myself wanting to ask questions of the author as I listen to the book. Questions about what other business have done, what can I do. I was pleased to find that my question were answered as the book progressed. I highly recommend this book to any business leader whether you're struggling with the jewel transformation for you believe everything is on the control this book has something to offer.

Not really interesting

Would you try another book from Mark Raskino and Graham Waller and/or Dana Hickox?

Not as my first choice - but it was kind of ok

What could Mark Raskino and Graham Waller have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make it shorter and sharper - what are the main points and the diagnostics.

Which scene was your favorite?

not sure

Any additional comments?

Too much repeating and preaching - no really novel info and ideas.
However, if you are lost with a mindset dating 5-10 years back this may be helpful.
I have seen many books and presentations e.g. Good Strategy Bad Strategy, Innovators dilemma, Michael Porters presentations, and more that are strong and insightful.
