Publisher's summary

Since the beginning of time, the angelic forces of the High Heavens and the demonic hordes of the Burning Hells have been locked in the Eternal Conflict for the fate of all Creation. That struggle has now spilled over into Sanctuary - the world of men. Determined to win mankind over to their respective causes, the forces of good and evil wage a secret war for mortal souls. This is the tale of the Sin War - the conflict that would forever change the destiny of man.

Bent on destroying the evil cult of the Triune, Uldyssian does not yet suspect that Inarius - secret Prophet of the Cathedral of Light - has been subtly aiding his quest. Obsessed with restoring Sanctuary to its former glory, Inarius has been playing Uldyssian against the two great religions in a reckless attempt to topple them both. But another player has slipped back into the equation. The demon Lilith, once Inarius's lover, seeks to use Uldyssian as her own pawn in a scheme to turn humans into an army of nephalem - godlike beings, more powerful than any angel or demon, who could overturn all Creation and elevate Lilith to a supreme being.

An original tale of swords, sorcery, and timeless struggle based on the best-selling, award-winning M-rated computer game from Blizzard Entertainment. Intended for mature listeners.

Voices should match situation, not character.

The story was captivating. The same gritty voice all the time, was not. The voice should fit the tone of the moment, Uldyessian was a simple farmer, he shouldn't sound like America's favorite imaginary badass. That alone, destroyed immersion every time the voice was used in what should have been a calm moment.

detail and atmosphere abound

loved everything, but there was so much interaction with you-know-who earlier and midway (no spoilers!) that I feel could've done with some trimming. I understand it's to really set up the emotional enormity of future events, but again, it's just my opinion.

Another Trip into Sanctuary

I loved this book.
I love the concept of the Nephalim.
I love the villains on every side.
I was playing D2 Resurrected as I listened to this.
Cant get enough Diablo!
If you want to fear for characters, revel in the good despair in the bad and feel excited during action read this! and listen.

Great story but narration overly done

My main issue with this book is the narrator. He makes some of the characters like Diablo sound ridiculous.

Cringey narrator

As a diablo fan, these books are enjoyable. The narrator however is really bad. Like, unbelievably bad. Other than that, this is a good way to immerse yourself in Diablo lore while waiting for Diablo 2 Resurrected :)

Great story but...!

As some one who loves everything Diablo i sadly have to admit i couldn't totally enjoy this - and the previous - audiobooks. Let me clarify that i love the story, but i just could not get used to the narration. All the voices seemed off and not convincing and at points even lack luster in my opinion. It really bums me out to be negative about something I should really like, but the performance sadly takes away from the great story.

Great production with good story

the character voices still seemed mismatched, however the plot shows me to overlook that too continue to enjoy this tale
