About this listen

The New York Times best-selling author of Ming Tea Murder serves up heists, homicides, and herbal blends in the latest in the Tea Shop mysteries.

Catering a high-class trunk show at Heart's Desire Jewelry is a shining achievement for Theodosia and the Indigo Tea Shop. After all, a slew of jewelers, museums, and private collectors will be there to showcase their wares and sip some of Theo's best blends. But just as Theo settles in to enjoy the fruits of her labor, the party is crashed by a gang of masked muggers who steal the precious gems and jewels on display.

The thieves disappear almost as quickly as they arrived, leaving shattered glass, scattered gemstones, and a dead body in their wake. Although the last thing Theo wants is to get involved, she can't help but intercede when her dear friend Brooke, aunt of the victim and owner of Heart's Desire, begs for help in figuring out who committed the brutal burglary. Though the FBI believes this daring "smash and grab" is the work of an international gang of jewel thieves, Theo is convinced that the felon is someone much closer to home....

Devonshire Scream

Not up to her usual stories. Started out slow and picked up the last chapters. I've read all of her Indigo tea Shoppe books.. Barbara sounded
Off. I do love Theo.

Not authors usual story telling.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No. The book was just lifeless and boring.

What could Laura Childs have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I have read every book in this series and really enjoyed them all. This one did not seem to have any effort made for mystery, excitement, or descriptions.

Which scene was your favorite?

None.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Another interesting story.

I like Theo and her Tea Shop people, but Delaine irritates me no end. I don't think it would hurt the series if Theo got a steady boyfriend.

A bit unbelievable

Theodosia borders on "breaking and entering", over-the-top for me. I have read at least a dozen of these mysteries, but was disappointed in this one.

Always entertaining

I love this series and thoroughly enjoy the characters! The recipes at the end are treasures.

what stood out for me is the skill of the reader.

the who done it part. the writer never fails to throw a twist in that cause you to second guess who the murderer was.
