Meh, not the worst.

Could have done without the forced and awkward social commentary, especially in today's day and age. Honestly though most of the dialogue in these books are somewhat unnatural sounding. Kind of feels like it is being translated from a different language. A lot of "Most unhappy" or "very big trouble" a lot of turn of phrases that are not incorrect, but still don't sound quite right for a natural english speaker. kinda weird really. I continue to not really understand Simone and her constant identity crisis. She has lived with the strange and unusual all her life, that is literally her normal. So why does she think anyone would really care about her being a proto snake creature? Actually WHY is she a proto snake creature, her father was the separated turtle? Sigh god genes make no damn sense. Speaking of things that didn't make sense, why did the turtle become female in it's weakened state in the last book? According to this book, the trouble all started with the turtle becoming male. Which was freakin hilarious by the way. I also got really confused when Bridget and her family went from being on the celestial to await the end of the war to being on the earthly being attacked? Still all in all i did have fun listening to this book, and the end was pretty good, just kinda wish this series had a more consistent and experienced author writing for it.
