About this listen

The inhabitants of cell blocks Delta, Gamma, and Bravo had a choice: Life in prison or freedom on an alien planet. Freedom. Ha. Right.

Being the concubine of an alien is hardly freedom. But still, that was a better deal than serving life in prison on Earth. That’s what Bianca thought. Until their spaceship was in a collision with a pirate spaceship.

Until the captain of that pirate ship turned out to be a hunk. A hunk with a cause, and a whole lot of sexiness to boot.

3 stars ⭐⭐⭐

Delta by Cass Carlton provides an interesting and unexpected read. The premise, where women are traded to aliens under the guise of becoming brides but end up as slaves to government officials, adds a unique twist to the story. While the concept was intriguing, the narrative unfolds differently than expected, offering an enjoyable experience. The revelation about the true fate of these women adds depth to the plot, making it a three-star read that captures attention with its distinctive approach.

Good listening material

This book starts off interesting then drags a bit after the hijacking by pirates. At one point I couldn't focus to say if I lived the main characters or just wanted the book to be over.

I like some of the plots but others made me feel disconnected from the characters and their story.

Overall, this is a good story but it will take you a bit to warm up to the lead characters.

SAGAFTRA!

The narrator’s voice stayed in monotone male mode throughout. Although male narration is my own preference, male actors make an effort to include female nuances in performances as female actors include male nuances or lower their voices. Tried this but not again even for free. Save AI / virtual voice for nonfiction.
