About this listen
February 2012. Somewhere in the North Atlantic.
In an increasingly uncertain defence environment, a deadly new arms race has begun. In an attempt to secure her boundaries, Britain has deployed the very latest sub-sea military technology. Beneath and beyond the front line, these are the adventures of the HMS Goliath. A 55,000 tonne M-Class nuclear stealth submarine, prowling 5,000 metres below the surface, manned by idiots.
Wherever they are, they don't know where they are. But they're probably not far from trouble. Deep trouble.
A hilarious comedy that Time Out called "a cracker" and the Sunday Telegraph described as "written with nutty aplomb", Deep Trouble is written by and stars Ben Willbond and Jim Field Smith.
Produced and directed by David Tyler
A Pozzitive production for the BBC

Story
Somewhere on the frontier between thought and reality exists the Discworld, a parallel time and place that might sound and smell very much like our own, but which looks completely different. Particularly as it’s carried though space on the back of a giant turtle (sex unknown). It plays by different rules. But then, some things are the same everywhere. The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.

Story
For three decades, Rupert Hardacre was one of the big beasts of advertising: he worked hard, played hard, and lived hard. But he fell harder. Driven out of every reputable agency in town for drinking all their whiskey and sleeping with all their wives, he used the remains of his fortune to found Hardacre's, the best (and only) advertising agency on the M25. Now he's so confident that his name alone will take him back to the top, he's happy to leave all the actual work to the creative department.

Deeply Not Funny
So, you like Cabin Pressure? This is the opposite of that. One-dimensional characters, the barest hint of an interesting plot, and dialogue that real people wouldn’t say.
Maybe the quality improves after the second episode but I a) wouldn’t count on it and b) won’t find out because I’m not enough of a masochist to subject myself to any more.
