Absolutely not suitable for audio
Audio version is not suitable for textbooks like this. The printed version of the book heavily relies on pictures, and code, which completely omitted in the audio version.

the result is garbage
this book may be an appalling example of the dysfunctional status quo plateau of non-progress from 2015 to 2022. this is a disorganized jumble of ineffective methods and the authors seem to have absolutely concern for the effectiveness of what they are doing. this stretches the applicability of even pure research as it is not clear that they are even trying to do pure research. what are they doing? this is sad because the book is in a sense well written but it is not about anything. the authors I would say are knowledgeable about their field, but they seem to be writing within a paradigm that is distainful of reality progress and effectiveness, or pure science rigor if that is your context.
I am optimistic that if these authors continue to write books and Gain real world experience in which reality matters that they may write a truly wonderful book.
