About this listen

Stacy Keach and Jane Kaczmarek star in this 1949 masterpiece by Arthur Miller, a searing portrait of the physical, emotional, and psychological costs of the American dream. Willy Loman (Keach) is the play's iconic traveling salesman, whose family is torn apart by his desperate obsession with greatness and social acceptance. As his two sons cast about aimlessly for their station in life, Willy begins to come unraveled when the reality of his life threatens his long-cherished illusions.

An L.A. Theatre Works full-cast performance featuring: Stacy Keach as Willy Loman, Jane Kaczmarek as Linda Loman, Steven Culp as Biff Loman, Maureen Flannigan as Letta and Jenny, Jason Henning as Bernard and Stanley, Kathryn Meisle as The Woman, Tim Monsion as Uncle Ben, Sam Mcmurray as Charley, John Sloan as Happy Loman, Kate Steele as Miss Forsythe, and Kenneth Alan Williams as Howard. Directed by Eric Simonson. Recorded before a live audience at the Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, in March 2011.

A Riveting Tragedy Indeed!

Loved it! It meets the true expectation of its title, a real modern tragedy at its best. Enjoy!

typical

Great performance brings into mind what is inside the minds of aging employees after they’ve been at it for the mini many years

Wonderfully Told

This is a classic story and it was fun to have a full cast. I highly recommend this audio performance if you enjoyed the play; the cast does a wonderful job of giving it almost the same energy as a live play in person.

one of the best school books

the story overall was really good and the ending of the play was absolutely a finish. I had to read this for school and this is one of best books I have had to read. If I didn’t also listen to the audiobook though, I don’t think I would have liked it as much. Listening to the play while reading gave me so much more than without it. Even though the ending was expected, it made me shed a few tears with the actor on the last page.

A Classic

The banality of life - captured by Lohman. It's still noble and worthy. Bravo!!

First Arthur Miller experience, brought me to tears

Truly brought all the nuance out. I didn’t anticipate how much this play would move me.
