Narrator ruined it for me

Sorry, but the narrator ruined this book for me. She just read the book. She didn’t have different voices for each of the characters. Everyone sounded like a 40 year old woman. Even the 7 year old girl.

Read the book instead.

Brilliant beginnings!

I chose this title because of a recommendation. I don't ordinarily read many British mysteries. This one intrigued because the main character, Liz, is close to my own age. She's starting over in a new small town after losing her husband. AND she's an artist opening her own shop. Oh, did I mention she's a retired detective?! I am confident to say that I WILL be following this series. I love it.
