Publisher's summary

Meet Detective Superintendent Roy Grace on his unforgettable first major case by award winning crime author Peter James, read by Daniel Weyman.

It was meant to be a harmless stag-night prank. But a few hours later, the groom has disappeared and his friends are dead.

With only three days to the wedding, Roy Grace is contacted by the man’s distraught fiancée to unearth what happened on that fateful night.

The one man who ought to know of the groom’s whereabouts is saying nothing. But then he has a lot more to gain than anyone realizes, for one man’s disaster is another man’s fortune . . .

Although the Roy Grace novels can be enjoyed in any order, Dead Simple is the first thrilling title in the bestselling series. Enjoy more of the Brighton detective’s investigations with Looking Good Dead and Not Dead Enough.

Now a major ITV series, Grace, adapted for television by screenwriter Russell Lewis and starring John Simm.

Fleshes out the TV show.

I really enjoyed this book although I had already seen it on Britbox as the mini series “Grace“. The book flashed out the TV script tremendously. It was ironic that in the book, Michael kitchen paren the actor) is mentioned in the series Foyil‘s war. Of course, Michael kitchen plays Roy Grace in the TV show.

Excellent: Dialogue. Characters. Plot twists. Stupendous narration. Can’t v wait to hear next one in series.

Great pace, story line

Love this new series, love the pace, and the character development, The only thing I did not like was the American Accent on the Davey Character, That southern drawl seems very incongruous with the other people in the story. I am on the next book now, in the series very very good, but again that Southern Accent drives me nuts. Sorry. Not enough to put me off, but wish the fantastic narrator could use a different American accent. Wonʻt miss this series.
