About this listen

Kyon Ensin finally has what he's always wanted: possession of Kricket Hollowell, the priestess who foresees the future. Together, their combined power will be unrivaled. Kricket, however, doesn't crave the crown of Ethar - she has an unbreakable desire to live life on her own terms, a life that she desperately wants to share with her love, Trey Allairis.

As conspiracies rage in the war for Ethar, Kricket's so-called allies want to use her as a spy. Even those held closest cannot be trusted - including Astrid, her sister, and Giffen, a member of a mysterious order with a hidden agenda. But Kricket's resolve will not allow her to be used as anyone's pawn, even as the Brotherhood sharpens its plans to cut out her heart.

As the destiny prophesied by her mother approaches, Kricket will backtrack through her fiery future to reshape it. For she knows one thing above all else: the only person she can truly count on is herself.

Mind blown

Such a compelling tale. The heroine sure has a lot to overcome. Romantic Sf/ fantasy.

An end

A great end to a trilogy. I didn't think I would like it this much.

The saga continues

I thought this book got off to a slow start, not recapturing my interest as quickly as I expected. It did, however, pick up speed and recaptured me. Cricket's adventures are fun to follow which makes this a worthwhile read.

The best of Kricket

I loved this thrilling conclusion to the Kricket series! It was a combination of love, heartbreak, betrayal and self discovery.

Compelling Series

Unless she doesn't finish it with a fourth book. Maybe the author is trying to leave the reader with hope for resolution or creating ones own ending which is great entertainment if readers know the finale is coming but leaves one disappointed and wary of investing ourselves in future Bartol series. I would submit that most who read this type of book enjoy the break from whatever our busy lives are challenging us with and being drawn into well crafted worlds and well developed characters that we come to care about. Bartol does that beautifully but leaves us feeling betrayed at the end over the setup for another book and no plans to write it. I hope she will reconsider and share a little more of the story.

It’s ends with a bang

The ending is not what I would have wished, but it ends on a bitter sweet note. The author leaves the story with a sense of full circle understanding but never closes the door. This series was worth reading. It will leave you dreaming of so many wonderful things even after it’s done. I can only hope the author will write one more book, but again it may just be a wishful dream.

Darken the Stars pulls together the whole Trilogy.

If you could sum up Darken the Stars in three words, what would they be?

Roller coster Ride!

What did you like best about this story?

Kricket and Kyon relationship

Any additional comments?

I loved this book. Darken the Stars was wonderful. And it really pulled together the other two books, as we discover Kricket's "destiny" .It will leave you wanting more, or at least for me it definitely did. This final book I liked Kricket even more, she is a fighter, a beautiful extremely intelligent fighter, even to the end she does not loses her HUMANITY. Her heart takes a big leap and she will take you along with her, it is very exiting. I want to say that for the first 2 books I was 95% Team Trey, I say that because Kyon always intrigued me, and I wanted to know why he was so into her. You will find out why in this book and it is awesome. With a bit of shyness I will say that I am a total traitor and completely switch teams as I am now 100% Team Kyon. He is amazing and he blows my mind I loved that Character and this book focuses on him a lot.
I am forever in loved with this series, and YES, I do hope Amy Bartol writes one more.

Great Book

This stupid(amazing) book just ended so my emotions are a little raw but I swear this book ripped my heart out, grated it on a cheese grater, cut out my soul and set them both on fire. Would highly recommend
