Publisher's summary

The Supernatural Summit is about to start at the DeVane Hotel in London. Vampires and werewolves, ghouls and gremlins, and pixies and druids have all come together to find better ways to get along with the human community and address the strict laws that govern their existence. It's a real opportunity to change the world for the better, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

But there are protestors camped outside the hotel and dangerous rumors circling about one of the delegates. When a dead body is discovered, I know it's only a matter of time before all hell breaks loose.

I have to find the murderer. And I have to find them quickly.

Dark Whispers is the fifth book in the action-packed urban fantasy Firebrand series.

Another Interesting Case

This was another interesting case for Emma. I always find it surprising when someone denies who they are. This, of course, happens in reality as well as in this story. It’s really disheartening but makes for a good story.

Chill..

A nice listen to. A great who done it. Simplistic yet gripping. Always immersed into the world.
I enjoy the realism that intermingles with the fantastic. Great job as always.

Okay mystery, cheesy romance

Overall, the story was fine. Certain parts were a bit heavy-handed with the allusions to real world issues and the romance is a little much for me, but I've never been a big fan of romance novels.

Ruth Urquhart did another amazing job narrating.

Great Series

I haven't read Helen Harper before, so I began the first book with trepidation. By book two I was hooked, and by book four knew I had found a new staple for imaginative and well written books. She is superb!

LOVE

I love Dark Whispers, this book has a very satisfying ending. I love the whole Firebrand series! Emma and her hot vampire lord are the best!

DC Bellamy Returns

when I began with this audible series I had no idea how great it would be. I don't know if this is the last in the series, but it is just as gripping and enjoyable as the books that cane before it. I enjoyed the writing style, the story lines, and the narrator as well. I do hope to learn of future escapades of DC Bellamy and would absolutely read something else from this author, Helen Harper.

I loved all the books.

The only very small complaint was that she kept overlooking some clues that were a bit obvious. Overall, it was a great listen!!

DARK WHISPERS IS AN EXCELLENT BOOK.

Of course when Helen Harper is the author, how could it not be great! She's a Phoenix, and the leading "supe" detective! Excellent read really enjoyed!

Stellar character development, Brilliantly and freshly creative and unique. characters and storylines flow easily.

such creativity and expert story weaving. she doesn't rely on those cheater squirmy short cut tropes of misunderstandings or secrets between main charcters. Instead her stories are beautifully crafted and any instance of misunderstandings or secrets are integral to the story.
also, each of her Series storylines has such a different makeup and main storyline between the two main characters / love interests.
Also, her supporting characters are always unique, interesting, and nicely woven as supporting story structure.

A little lighter on action than previous titles

Book 5 seems to take contain just a small handful of places for events to occur and doesn’t have the same amount of action and excitement as the previous titles. It’s still a good listen and I was kept guessing up until nearly the end on who the murderer was this time. Overall not bad and still excellent narration.
