Yet when Obsidian is offered an opportunity to stop the stone taking over his body in exchange for retrieving the gun, he asks Jaines for her help. Now Jaines must choose: a dead man's vengeance or a living man's hope?

Mediocre writing, good story

This story could have been soooo much better. The author dwelled on minute details and skipped the most important parts of the story. I didn't really care how many silkies they had to feed. But, I would have liked to hear about the development of the relationship. There were three times I had to check to make sure I hadn't skipped a chapter/minutes off of the book.
Also, if you think this is a "romance" book - nope! Not even once did any "action" happen. They said wedding vows to each other. Next sentence.... he is sleeping. What?
Savannah Richards has a great voice. I enjoyed her narration.

This was a great listen. I like the narrator and the entire plot of the tale.
