About this listen

Sandu Berdardi continues to exist only to protect his people. An ancient Carpathian, his entire long life has been dedicated to honor above all else. He knows his time has passed, especially since he has not been able to find his lifemate - the anchor to keep him sane in a world he no longer understands. But just as he truly starts to give up hope, a voice reaches out to him in the night and his world explodes into color.

Adalasia enters Sandu's mind seamlessly, as if she has been a part of him forever. While she can see the shape of things to come in her deck of cards, her gift is both a blessing and a curse. The true course of Sandu's quest remains unclear, with danger waiting at every turn. She cannot see everything the future holds, but she does know it is a journey they will take together.

By joining him, she will start them down a dangerous, seductive path from which there is no coming back....

Reunion?

This book felt like a family reunion of sorts. I loved hearing about how some of the past characters came out. Some of the story was just ok, but IMO it was less than 5%. I could not WAIT for this book and I’m keeping my eyes peeled for the next ones!!

Dark Tarot

Christine Feehan gets a five star rating from me for almost any book she writes. I love her books. Just wish she could write them faster. The characters are so real and believable in what they do. The fact that they all care for each other so much is fantastic. The fact that they all exist for their life mates is magical. I would recommend this book and every other one in the series to everyone.

Love the series but....

I really wish they'd get another narrator. I just find Jim F. to be so monotonous.

Loved this story

Really good story and excellent narration. The only issue I had was the pronunciation of Joey and Jubile, made my eye twitch.

Carpathian vs Demons?

I’ve read every book in this series and this one, while well written, is my least favorite. As the story moves from the more typical Dark protagonist and his Lifemate, something gets lost. The introduction of this new antagonist goes beyond the scope of earlier Dark books. It reads like a new series. There were so many elements left to explore in the series, this divergence into demonology seems far fetched. We’ve completely left the characters we know ( except for occasional references). While the ancients are interesting, do they need to go into another realm to find life mates? And , spoiler alert - the whole storyline regarding Jubal seemed rushed and almost a throw away. His story, Gary’s story, the fate of those with children still in the Carpathian Mountains, the Lucan’s, the Jaguars all could be told. Instead we get demons and worst of all the introduction of Lilith. This character has been over used in fiction needing a female villain. I’m disappointed.

Finally an actual story

I really liked this one. It had a lot of suspense where I couldn’t wait to find out what happened.next It wasn’t just jumping from one sex scene to the other. It actually had a story line. I did think the ending in the cave was anti climatic I expected at least some fighting.

Christine Fehan

Astoundingly written, suspenseful, total capture of mind imagery. Christine, has changed some of her story with the old and and new and old. Each book is dynamite of a story line very believable in our crazy world.
