Publisher's summary

Temporarily assigned to supervise a team of bioinformaticians, Marcel expects to spend a couple of weeks in the peaceful retreat of Safe Haven, enjoying Oregon Coast’s cool weather and rugged beauty.

Things quickly turn chaotic when the retreat’s director receives an email with an encoded message about a potential new threat to the clan.

While those in charge of security debate what to do next, Safe Haven’s first ever paranormal retreat is about to begin, and one of the attendees is a mysterious woman who makes Marcel’s heart beat faster whenever she’s near.

Is the beautiful mortal his one true love?

Or is she the harbinger of more bad news?

Once again I.T. Lucas has written an amazing story.

A new story line regarding Emmett’s former Kra-ell tribe.
Igor the Kra-ell leader who has been holding Jade and the other surviving women and children hostage after his attack on their village. He has sent Sofia one of the few human that was sent out to earn their college degrees in order to help him move forward with his plans to find more of the Kra-ell settlers that the queen sent to earth to escape the Godly King from their home planet.
Sofia was charged with going to Safe Haven to gather information about the retreat. He is concerned about what Jades interest is with it.
Sofia meets Marcel who is a clan member and becomes close to him. She is supposed to get information from him regarding Safe Haven.
Things start heating up after Sofia is found out.
I’m excited to see where this story goes.

cliffhanger!!!

Soooooooo goood!!! I must continue! for some reason, I think Eric might be the first that we loose during transition. not to mention his other half still needs to transition but they are not exactly acting like true love mates by what he is willing to do to help her transition...Tovan's blood doesn't seemto be as strong as Ananni's. obviously I could be wrong. Things are progressing and heated between Sofia and the Clan. Her boss got disconnected thank goodness, but at the same time, now the heat is on and getting serious.

Another great chapter in the Children of Gods series!!!

Another great book in the Children of the Gods series! Marcel and Sophia are the main characters in this story and Sophia is a spy for the Kraell leader Igor! Will they be able to come together in spite of her betrayal? That is the big question!

I really like Sophia!!!

Seems I’m addicted to these series. Relistening for the 3rd time. How wildly diverting I find them. Marcel is a bit tightly wound for my liking. I find his kindness attractive. He is always polite even if it pains him. I love Sophia’s spunk. She thinks on her feet and very adaptable even if ill prepared. Happy New year 🎆!

Hooked

I’ve been addicted to this series from the first book, Dark Stranger. If you enjoy paranormal and steamy romance, Children of the Gods is worth investing in. Charles Lawerence does a fantastic job narrating this series!

SURPRISE

I had a hard time getting to the end of this book. I expected the story about Kraell Jade. Sofia is not the strongest character example for a Kraell descendant.

Sofia

Sofia is in so much trouble. How will she get out of all of this mess? I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see where this leads

Marcel and Sofia--part 1

Dark Gambit the Pawn is book 65 in the Children of the Gods series and is the first in this trilogy. It is the story of Marcel and Sofia.

Well not sure where to start on this book. Ms. Lucas is still turning the story arc to move in a new direction. If you have made it this far in the series then you know that it a HUGE arc. It is still shifting to the Kra'ell as the new bad guys, mainly Igor. Doomers are not much of an issue anymore.

Though I give this book 5 stars, I am not sure I recommend reading it right away. There are questions and nice cliff-hanger that will make you want to beat your head against the wall. I personally suggest reading it closer to when Dark Gambit the Play comes out.

Awesome series.

I absolutely love these stories. I.T. Lucas is amazing, to write so many books and still keep it interesting with suspension and romance. I love Charles Lawrence's narration. Great job on changing his tone of voice and making the book even sexier.
