About this listen

Every father-to-be's handbook for knowing what to expect when expecting!

In today's world, men are more involved in their wives' pregnancies than ever before. This 2nd Edition of Dad's Guide to Pregnancy for Dummies gives new fathers a hands-on guide that covers all of the logistical, physical, and emotional aspects of pregnancy. It is a wealth of information on topics, such as setting up the nursery, childbirth 101, and how to take care of your newborn. The book includes ideas for knowing the right time to break the news and the pregnancy timeline. Once the baby arrives, this handbook gives you the low-down on what you can expect during the first six months, such as how to change diapers and feed the little one.

You'll also explore much more in-depth topics such as the new technology behind ultrasounds, and the information that is gleaned from them, the lowdown on vaccination updates, information to take the fear out of cesarean sections, tips on prenatal depression, new developments on infertility treatments, and so much more!

If you're going to be a new dad, this survival guide of what to expect as your bundle of joy is on the way is the complete, accessible resource for preparing with your partner.

Exciting adventure

When my wife told me we were pregnant I was the happiest I have ever been, we were going to have a baby! She has given so much of her adult life to full time mission work serving vulnerable/at risk pregnant teenagers in Africa Kenya, now she was going to carry and care for her own child.

Few weeks down the line it dawned on me that her life, lifestyle and entire future was going to change dramatically, morning sickness, distaste for her normally exciting things, foods activities you name it. That was when I started researching on how and when I can be part of this journey with her. Earlier in 2018 I had acquired a paralegal for dummies that was the most valuable purchase I had ever made, hopping to finding one I went online and found Dad’s Guide to Pregnancy and sure enough I have loved every page and sections of it. Sure the journey won’t stop here for me but I feel confident in our conversation about what my wife is experiencing and what is soon to come.

Every man who desires to be a dad one day should take up the challenge and get to know more about your wife, yourself and your soon to come bundle of joy.

Some good info. A lot of useless info.

I felt like 70% of the book was just rambling off really uninsightful common sense information, like a lazy college student trying to make up a word count. Like there was an entire chapter about how to manage finances where they went on and on about cancelling your Netflix, don't eat at restaurants etc. I really don't think anyone bought the book for those incredible insights.

And then the absurd section on vaccinations. Basically saying it's a matter of opinion whether you should vaccinate your child, are you serious?

I don't really feel like I learnt much from this book.
