When Mackenzie Owens started a book club in the small Cornwall town she now calls home, it was meant to be something to bring the community together. But that's a hard ask when someone drops dead on day one.
With a body in the bookstore, Mack's reputation is going from floating in the toilet bowl to swirling down into the depths of the sewer. If she doesn't get to the bottom of this, and fast, there's no crawling out of there like the hot version of a Ninja Turtle Mack always wanted to be.
Enlisting the help of Maggie and her friends, Mack is convinced she's going to solve this on her own. After all, what's another murder investigation, right? But it soon turns out that not everything is as it seems, and Mack quickly finds herself mired deep in Cornwall's criminal underbelly that has tried to stay hidden for so long.
