About this listen

Detective Alex Cross and Bree's wedding plans are put on hold when Alex is called to the scene of the perfectly executed assassination of two of Washington D.C.'s most corrupt: a dirty congressmen and a scheming lobbyist. Next, the elusive marksman begins picking off other crooked politicians, sparking a blaze of theories - is the marksman a hero or a vigilante?

The case explodes and FBI agent Max Siegel battles Alex for jurisdiction. As Alex struggles with the sniper, Siegel, and the wedding, he receives a call from his deadliest adversary, Kyle Craig. The Mastermind is in D.C. and will not relent until he has eliminated Cross--and his family - for good. Let down

The story is a bit dry. Not the level of suspense we've had with Cross novels of the past. We've also had enough Kyle Craig. Hopefully this is his true demise. Too much Alex and Bree action. This is a suspense novel, not soft porn. The narrator doesn't compare to Cross narrator's of the past.

On Fire

This book was truly on fire from the beginning to end. Once again with James Pattersons books I was literally pulled in to the book. It was an excellent read

okay

I enjoy listening to the Alex Cross books. Have heard them all. I was also disappointed with the new narrator. It felt like he was rushing it. And the book wasn't that long I couldn't figure out why.

By the very end I was used to him but the narration was definitely worse than in previous books. The book was ok. I don't expect too much from Patterson books anymore as he churns them out so quickly. But quick entertainment is what I expected and what I got.

Great!! Really enjoyed!

This is the typical ride you get in a Cross novel. I don't understand the negative feedback about the narration, I enjoyed Andre and didn't have any trouble with him as Cross. If you are a Cross fan this is a great, quick read.

It felt like I was there

The narrators brought this book to life. Wouldn't mind listening to it again. Can't wait to buy the next book.

Not very believable...

Also taking a star away from Performance for the worst "eastern European" accent I think I've ever heard.

Great Read. Fast paced. Lots of action.

This was another great installment in the series on Alex Cross. The villains were wicked and callous. Alex and his team worked together superbly. Good ending.

Excellent presentation.

The reader sounded like I would expect Alex and Sampson would sound. That hasn't been the case in previous books. It made a huge difference in how easy it was to listen to!

Lacking substance

I have no complaints about narrator Andre Braugher. There have been various narrators for the Alex Cross. This story lacked substance and character development. There was no reason to why Christine showed up. Where did she disappear to after the ice cream? Favorites such as the Cross children Janine and Damon had little roles; Alex's best friendSampson made a brief appearance. No reason for the Mice and Men characters. Their storyline lacked purpose and was boring. It added nothing to the main storyline. OK book , but seemed like a formula written book.
