About this listen

Difficult doesn't mean impossible.

We've all encountered them: the bullies, the wet blankets, the yea-sayers that never come through. More often than not, we're left fumbling for words, stumbling toward the door...frustrated, enraged or just plain depressed.

Dr. Robert M. Bramson, a psychologist and management consultant, will show you that it is possible to remain sane, dignified and optimistic when dealing with even the most Difficult People. With these lively, insightful dramatizations, you'll learn how to:

  • Identify difficult types, from the too-good-to-be-true to the too-hot-to-handle, from the perennial gossip to the eternal clam.
  • Master the step-by-step procedures that will neutralize any negative or hostile encounter.
  • Understand your own style of thinking and how it affects your ability to deal effectively with each type.

Maybe you can't turn "Gloomy Gus" into "Pollyanna"...but with the help of Dr. Bramson, you'll prevent the difficult from becoming impossible - and end "relation frustrations" for good!

    Entertaining and Informative

While some of the scenarios may be slightly outdated for today's business environment, the techniques are still valid and useful today.

One fun note while listening was that I quickly found traits about myself that can be considered "difficult" to others and ways that I can look at improving myself.

Good concepts, easy to remember categories

Would you try another book from Robert Bramson and/or Robert Bramson?

There was nothing new, yet the way it is presented created a good map for me to better categorize and more effectively deal with difficult people.

    Excellent advice

I wish that I had known about this 50 years ago. Thankfully, I have not needed those skills until very recently and for very minor issues.

    Tools

Really enjoyed the book. It gave me the equipment to respond to people that are harsh. And feel confident with my new and obtained knowledge.

How do I get a refund?

Don't waste your money. This book only states the obvious. Outdated and hardly practical examples.

    chapters are out of order.

the chapters do not match up to the original book, a lot is added and a lot is left out. I had to read this book for a college class and the audio book is not a great substitute.
