About this listen

She spied him in the shadows...

And in an instant, Thalia Langley knew the man before her was no saint. He might claim to be the Duke of Hollindrake's unassuming country cousin, but no man that handsome, that arresting, could be anything but...well, he simply must be an unrepentant rogue. His cat-like grace and power leave Tally shivering in her slippers at the notion of all the wicked, forbidden things he might be capable of doing...to her.

Indeed, Lord Larken is no bumbling vicar, but a master spy there in his majesty's service to find - and murder - a notorious pirate freed in a daring prison escape. Devoted to the Crown, Larken's not about to let an interfering (and not entirely innocent) Mayfair miss disrupt his ruthless plans. Yet how can he be anything but tempted by this lady in a little black gown...a dress tantalizing enough to lead even Larken astray.

Adventuress Regency Misses Fall in Love

Enjoyed the story. Unusual yet pretty plausible. Listened to the audible book. Had trouble putting it down. Only issue, the narrator pronounced “harrumph” in a way that made no sense. Otherwise she did well.

Happy to see more in this series

While I am happy to see more in this series. I’m confused on a couple points and I don’t feel the book did a good job of wrapping up Pippen and the proclamation at the end. Too many loose ends. And Temple’s role in the story knowing his history with the girls was a stretch.

good

I have to admit, this listen did take a few chapters in for me to really like it. Funny, a little sex, mystery and suspense. I do think the editor could of done a better job of keeping the "hhrrmph" something better than the way Ms Duerden says it. All in all , I did enjoy this book. I also only listened to book # 1 and that might of been why it took me several chapters to get into this book. Enjoy!😄

Another Disappointment

Well, the book starts out pretty well. Fun, flirty, intetestinafter the rape scene, it went downhill from there. It just kept getting worse and worse. Im not sure what the other reviewers read but this was no love story one many levels. I had hoped since Love Letters from Duke was so great this would have followed suit but it was horrible. Not even the narration was enough to save it. The ending was AWFUL, heart-wrenching giving us a pitiful glimpse at aHEA that wasnt deserved. The MMC was an awful man who never redeems himself, yet he wins the girl. The girl, Tally, was the desperate type, taking anything the guy wanted to give out. I never felt that they were in love, just horny and the sex scenes were exactly the same from all the previous books... cut, paste and change the characters name. It was unimaginative and boring!
Conclusion, uless it's free, don't waste your credit.

Not Bad

I liked that heroine was smart, bold and daring. I also liked the twist at the end.
