Lors de l'enterrement de la vieille dame, Sébastien fait la connaissance de Maribel sa petite-fille. Ils décident de s'associer pour découvrir le secret de Grisélda Blanco. Seulement, ils ne sont pas les seuls à chercher le trésor de l'Eldorado.
Philippe Ward est le nom de plume sous lequel Philippe Laguerre publie ses romans et nouvelles fantastiques. Philippe pour son vrai prénom et Ward pour L'Affaire Charles Dexter Ward d'Howard Phillips Lovecraft.
On lui doit plusieurs romans fantastiques comme Artahe (1997) ou Irrintzina (1999), couronné par les prix Masterton en 2000 et Ozone en 2000. Ainsi que 16 rue du repos (Editions Rivière Blanche) ou Magie rouge (Editions Trash).
Certains de ses écrits sont le fruit de sa collaboration avec la traductrice et auteure Sylvie Miller comme la nouvelle série de romans Lasser, détective privé reprenant l'un des personnages d'une de leurs précédentes nouvelles Voir Pompéi et mourir, paru en 2012.
Bien que son penchant pour le fantastique, la science-fiction et la fantasy, il n'en oublie pas pour autant ses origines ariégeoises, et a en effet, écrit plusieurs livres sur le département.
En 2016, il publie un thriller Manhattan Marylin sous son vrai nom.
Outre son écriture, Philippe Ward a été pendant quinze ans directeur de collection des éditions Rivière Blanche.
