Acerca de esta escucha

It was complicated, it was also just the beginning. A decision. A simple choice. There is always that one moment in life where things could have been different. That one moment where you could have chosen a path that would lead you down a certain road. A different life. It was easier to pretend that we were still best friends, and that she was my girl and I was her boy. Pretending was better than knowing the truth. I. Ruined. Us. I had her. I lost her. I love her. All I did was complicate us.

Wow... after reading this story of Alex and Lucas I was left disliking Luke and cheering on Alex. This is a timeless story of falling for your best friend and not wanting tostand up for what you want and take a chance on what could be. But instead going in another direction and dealing with the consequences. Alex is so strong and true with he actions that I found my self screaming at Luke for his cowardice. You can't have it both ways sir! #teamalex
I highly recommend this read! This is definitely a throw your kindle kind of read.

At first I didn't like this book at all! It just kept repeating the same scenario over & over. It was a chore just to listen to it.
Then, towards the end, I started enjoying it so much. I'm not sure if I'm going to read the.next book because it seems repetitive. I definitely want to hear what happens to Aubrey.

Confused

I enjoyed the story, but felt the angst (which I like) was drawn out too much. The narration was pretty good, but the recording was annoying...it was like it was spliced to pieces very unprofessionally. I started with a newer duology of M. Robinson and her writing is amazing, but I can tell from this one that she has really grown as an author. I am really glad I read this, and I’m on to the next!!!

Very angsty!

Absolutely LOVED the narration for this story, the emotions that were heard through made you truly relate to the characters. My heart is with both Alex "Half Pint" and Lucas "Bo" this is a beautifully written story of friends to lovers filled with so many emotional ups and downs that I was in tears on and off throughout the story. Hearing from both of their point of views hit me even harder because you're feeling exactly what they are going though in their minds and hearts. Alex sure has a lot of boys watching out for her no matter what through the years and it's beautiful the connection they all share, the family they've created. There were more then enough times I've wanted to knock Lucas out for his actions but in the end everything happens for a reason and these two find that out eventually.

My Two Pennies

I have to say this is the first M. Robinson book I really didn’t care for. I normally love how here’s are often a little shorter and to the point and this one was definitely not that. Most of the story was about when Lucas and Alex were kids. I kinda skipped through the whole thing and listened here and there to get the gist of it after the first 10 chapters. I just couldn’t keep listening. It didn’t get good until the last like 30 minutes. There is still and HEA but it just felt like it would never get there. I still do want to listen to the other books in the series. This one just wasn’t my style of book

Ehhh

Me and the slow burn have a complicated relationship. I love to hate them, and I hate to love them. There is no shortcut to being together for Alex and Lucas. There isn't a clearly defined path. There isn't even a hint of a path. This journey to love is like a slow trek through the jungle, slashing your way through with a machete. This is one of those books where I wished I could step inside the story and smack the ever loving crap out of both the hero and the heroine. And some of the secondary characters too. I was warming up the back of my hand for plenty of fictional characters. This story felt like I was like being slowly ripped into two pieces. I'm surprised that when Alex and Lucas did finally find their way together that my Kindle didn't spontaneously combust with the long overdue climax. Yes, that pun WAS intended. Oh, and guess what? M. Robinson is setting you up for MORE. And I bet, just like me, despite the fact that you wanted to scream and cry and throw your Kindle while reading this book, you just can't help yourself but keep on reading about the Good 'Ol Boys. Does that make me insane?

This book made me sad pretty much through the whole thing. The story was great, maybe a little long but it was told with such emotion that I felt it. I related to Alex on some levels as I hung out with boys growing up and I remember how hard that pivotal moment was that the friendship was no longer simple and you had to learn to share the boys with other girls. I did not have a romantic relationship with any of the boys but it still hurt at times so my heart truly broke for Alex.

Watching Alex grow up I just wanted to scream at Lucas to get his sh!t together and man up but that was what made the story such an emotional one. Hearing the story from both POV helped at times to understand what was going through their head, if it wasn't in dual POV then it wouldn't have made ANY sense.

Great performance by Lauren Sweet and Kyle Filppelli

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
