About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Kylie Scott presents two stand-alone novellas in this must-listen collection.

Colonist's Wife: She'll run to the far corners of space to avoid her violent history, hide her true identity, and pass herself off as a mail-order bride. But no one can escape their past forever. And as for her new husband...well, he's nothing like she expected.

Heart's a Mess: Former wild child Violet has vowed to get her life in order. To find a good job and settle down. To open a savings account and stop falling for the wrong men. But whatever happens, to most definitely not accidentally sleep with her hot, newly single boss.

Two fantastic short stories

Loved them both. They both had their own appeal, though totally different story lines. I would have loved a little more back story on the first one, but still was fantastic audiobook. Love this author. Definitely looking forward to more audio books from her. Elena is a fantastic narrator and made these short stories even more visually stunning.

Loved both books, wish they were longer

The first book Colonist’s Wife was incredible. I wish it was so much longer so I could love the characters and their story more. I haven’t read a story based on another place et before, and that was odd, but not off-putting.
The second story Heart’s a Mess was good. Lots of steamy sex, but so dang short. I would have loved a longer book of this story as well.
All in all I enjoyed both books and although it was nice to have a quick read and get 2 stories in, I wanted more. Great narration too!

Mixed bag

The first story, Colonist’s Wife, was a decent short story, and could have been developed into a good, longer novel. The second story was basically straight porn with no real plot or character development. I fast forwarded through almost that whole story it had so much graphic & pointless sex in it. The narrator was good.

Signature Kylie Scott

Colonist’s Wife: Really like this story of Jo/Loiusa, who hides as a contract bride on a mining station out by Jupiter’s moons. She arrives to find that her new husband, Gabriel, has been killed, and she’s now married to Adam by contract.
Chapter 10: Heart’s a Mess
Violet and Alex find out it’s more than a one night stand.
If you like Kylie Scott, you’ll like these stories, written in her signature sexy, quirky style.
I really like Elena Wolfe’s narration.
Recommend. Worth a full credit.

Not bad. But short

These stories were quick listens. Not too much character development but entertaining to say the least. I liked both equally

I only wish the stories were longer.

Like other reviewers, I only wish the stories were longer. The Colonist's Wife was a good story. Romance novels are often very similar, and I get tired of the same old themes and tropes. This story had a bit of sci-fi and was more interesting to me. Heart's a Mess was good too. The author managed to be as compelling, and I had all the feelings, even in the short time frame. The narrator was fabulous, as she always is.

Short & sweet

I like Kylie Scott's writing, even though I sometimes find it formulaic. This was the opposite of formulaic! An interesting and unique approach to sci-fi romance, for sure. Heartfelt & realistic. Great character development, especially for a novella. Elena Wolfe is one of my favorite narrators. She did a fantastic job! Highly recommend.

Great romance story

I enjoyed both romance stories but I like the first story the best it was well written and developed. The first story was about a women trying to hide from a drug lord and entered a o be a alien bride. It had hot scenes, action and alpha male. The second book didn't care for has much. The heroine was to whiney for me. The narration is ok

They were ok, I guess

I'm not much for insta-love. both stories have the characters falling in love within days. it was kinda irritating.
