About this listen

Dying might just be the best thing that ever happened to Dare.

Not the dying itself, of course, although thankfully he doesn't remember it. He finds himself in a gray void, where a mysterious voice offers him a choice: Continue on to whatever awaits him in the afterlife, or be reborn on a world with video game-like mechanics. Which as far as he's concerned isn't a tough choice at all.

Just that quickly Dare begins a new life full of possibilities, eagerly venturing out to explore a breathtaking world, level up and become powerful, and romance and fall in love with beautiful women of an incredible variety of fantasy races.

Be aware: This is a harem series and features explicit romantic scenes with numerous partners.

A bit immature

Die go to another world, typical isakai plot with a bit of RPG game thrown in. The plot and characters are serviceable as is with writing.

The story’s weakness lies in the main character’s emotional immaturity. He uses is feelings rather than logic or reason. All characters suffer from this making the world seem like a hormonally charged high school.

The AI voice is ok with problems dealing with emotion and niche words.

a good story

this was a good story, and the virtual voice was not bad either. there were decent inflections of the virtual voice to make it almost seem like a real person at times. as for the story itself, I have already downloaded book to to start on it.

The beginning was boring, but then it got so good I kept listening and enjoyed it

solid story with different class

I like that the MC didn't have some super rare class to pick. Just some basic knowledge and video game knowledge and used that to start his journey. The Ai narration was better then some narrators and worse then the best narrators. A solid listen that I recommend to others.

Mix bag

First of all 4 stars because I'm interested enough to check out the next book.
This was a enjoyable/frustrating listen for me. I was enjoying, then the MC starts annoying me, then I go back to being able to enjoy, back to being annoyed, enjoy again and finally in what was probably the last paragraph or 2 I get annoyed.

It is incredibly difficult to word my complaints or suggestions without either spoiling, or having my review be incredibly misleading, making the issues I had sound much more than they actually were.

The character is called out as being an A-hole a number of the times he is in fact being one. But it does kind of read like the person calling him that is being petty to him. Yes he is right most of these times but he is also being quite a little turd to the person.

The haggling, I don't mind a bit of haggling, but the way he argues tooth and nail with every vendor is irritating, at least give him a haggling skill that he is being nudged that he can go a bit lower or whatever, the fight every time is already not worth the discount he gets, or at least fade to black for the haggling once in a while. That combined with the fact he isn't from a culture that haggles... anyways it ends up just rubbing me the wrong way.

Please adjust the MC's fear a bit, a lot of times it is like he is looking for something to worry excessively about. It is fine with the life and death stuff, but he seems much more relaxed about that than communicating what he wants with his partner.. If he didn't trust them it would be fine, but he claims he does but doesn't really show it. I guess it is something that can show character growth.

None of these were done too excessively, but I mainly listed them to vent and let the people that may easily be triggered by these know.

That said it is an enjoyable story to go along with the ride for. No real overarching goal or anything, just dropped in a world to explore.

A.I. Voice better than some narrators…

This story is very slow in some parts but it paces well and the character development is good. I’m interested to see what the MC’s benefactors motivations are. I have several theories and I’m sure they are all wrong.

slight emotion

the narration lacked inflections for extreme emotion range, but I enjoyed the storyline and character development.

Loved it so far...wish the AI voice was more full and lively

the book and audible itself is fun, sexy, packed with action and character development. can't wait to jump back into the world of Collisa. Just need to find a more lively, not so serious AI voice actor or hire a real one. certain parts as a listener missed the in depth maps. i see why now

The narrative was well done

The story did start slowly but built with good development. The MC was likable and his adventure was entertaining. The Narrative was interesting might have been improved with duel AI voices or more variety of voices but it was clear and enjoyable. Hopefully this type of narrations can help new authors to get more books converted to Audio faster but it can’t quite replace the better narrators or the narrator teams. Although the editing should go faster.
