Publisher's summary

Undercover. Under fire. Under arrest....

It's hard to save a special agent's life with your hands cuffed behind your back.

Anna walks into the house and is met with flashbang. The FBI have her cuffed and belted into the back of their car. Two FBI agents are escorting her over the mountains of West Virginia heading to Washington, DC, for interrogation....

She was never meant to get there alive.

Flying off the side of the icy road, a car crash is Anna's chance to escape and survive. It would be so much easier without her special forces code - no man left behind.

With injured FBI Special Agent Steve Finley in tow, it's a cross-country cat-and-mouse game while maintaining her undercover status.

Great read

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and held my attention the entire time. I enjoyed getting to see Finley again (met him in prior books in the Iniquus world) and seeing him find somebody. He made some mistakes the last time he was with someone and it was interesting to get to know him better and see him redeem himself from that. It is not needed to have read the prior books in order to fully enjoy this one. I also enjoyed Anna and the way that she handled herself and all the curve balls that are thrown at her. Steve Finley and Anna are thrown together without having the full story and are forced to work together in order to survive. Anna is undercover and has been arrested and Finley is working transport when they end up in a large snowstorm and off the road with people after them. This is definitely a book where actions speak louder than words as neither knows if they can really trust the other person or not and not able to share full details so they build trust by the actions and looking at how the other one is acting and what they are doing. I enjoyed this one for sure. It had quite a few twists and turns and was well done.
The narrator did a good job with the story and characters and bringing it to life.

Another adventure

This book has Finley and Anna's story. It is full of danger, intrigue, adventure, and suspense along with the beginning of their romance. Their escape through the wilderness is full of danger along with excitement. This is another entertaining book in this series with very enjoyable characters. The narration is very good.

Where is the rest of the book?

I was enjoying the characters in this book but then the end just seems to come out of nowhere without resolving anything. I was checking my phone wondering what happened that it just stopped and it really was just the end.

what just happened

this author is wonderful - except this time. everything that happened in the escape from their planned murder was ridiculous, many details didn't make sense or fit together. the end of the story didn't answer half the questions or explain half the connections, and that is after I listened to many parts of it several times through to figure out what I was missing. in the end I wasn't missing anything there were just that many holes. As always Mr Duran did a great job. the story, uuummm, NO

Love Troy Duran

I am glad I read this before the book that introduced Finley, because he was a real jerk in that one. This one is better for him, but Anna is the real star. She is great! The narration was stellar, as always. But, the ending left much to be desired - it ended without a lot of details. Kind of left me thinking "what?"
