About this listen

For Dr. Cathy Sewell, Code Blue means more than just the cardiac emergencies she faces - it's the state of her life when the return to her hometown doesn't bring the peace she so desperately needs. The town doctors resent the fact that she's not only a newcomer but also a woman, and the devastating results from one of her prescriptions may mean the end of her practice. As two men compete for her affection, an enemy wants her out of town - or possibly even dead.

Cathy returns to her hometown seeking healing after a broken relationship, but discovers that among her friends and acquaintances is someone who wants her out of town...or dead. Lawyer Will Kennedy, her high school sweetheart, offers help, but does it carry a price tag? Is hospital chief of staff, Dr. Marcus Bell, really on her side in her fight to get hospital privileges? Is Will's father, Pastor Matthew Kennedy, interested in advising her or just trying to get her back to the church she left years ago?

When one of Cathy's prescriptions almost kills the town banker, it sets the stage for a malpractice suit that could end her time in town, if not her career. It's soon clear that this return home was a prescription for trouble.

Homecoming can be a struggle--lethal even!

Cathy Sewell returns to her hometown to practice medicine and is run off the road by a black SUV. And so begins Richard Mabry's first in a series, Code Blue. From the first page to the last, there are twists and turns that keep the pages turning. Wrong prescriptions, and emergency surgeries...will these keep this young doctor from being awarded medical privileges at the local hospital. Who is out to get her? Can she trust anyone? How will she pay her loan to the bank if patients believe the rumors? Can Cathy reconcile her past disappointments with a God she blames? With forgiveness and faith, confusion and calamity, family and old flames, Code Blue is a thriller you won't want to miss. Having listened to the audiobook, I will note that Kate Udall does a great job of narration. Having captured the essence of the various characters she gives them a voice of their own.

excellent book

I really enjoyed this book. the narrator was fine...but the best part was who was trying to kill the dr. and destroy her practice after she returned to her hometown. there was also a love story...the return to her christian faith as well as finally finding out the truth about her parents, how the killer had destroyed her mothers health by making own pills. don't want to give the whole story away. if you are looking for a good mystery story...without illicit sex, I think you will enjoy this book.

Very Juvenile Attempt

This book is very poorly written. It comes across like a junior high creative writing assignment .
The plot is stupid, the female character is hardly believable. The plot breaks in weird places
and leaves things unresolved. The author tried to create fear and suspense but only succeeded
in leaving you puzzled as to any logical follow up to the threats to Doctor Sewer.
The narration was barely adequate to keep me interested.
No Thanks to another by this author.
