I guess I should’ve known that nothing is free—and the only way I can escape him is if I find my way out of his family graveyard by midnight.

It was her big doe eyes that caught my attention, and the haunted smile that triggered my predatory side.

I’ve watched her from the shadows, keeping her safe from a distance. I’m too dark, too twisted to corrupt her… but, as it turns out, my twin isn’t.

Our birthday is Halloween. Tonight, I expected to hunt—to kill—but when Nicholas sets Sally in my path, midnight starts the beginning of my chase.

If I catch her, I can do anything I want. She agreed to it, and as the hours pass, it becomes clear to me that she isn’t trying all that hard to get away.

Which is for the best since I have no intention of ever letting my little doe escape me now…

Good story

Honestly I love the Reed Brothers and their twin bond ❤️ I love how dark the story is. I really really hope there is a story about Nicholas. I also agree with previous reviews that the male narrator sounded more like he has a head cold than sinister and I wish the female lead had a little more development. She’s new to town everyone tells her to stay away from the reed brothers so without any hesitation or self preservation she agrees to meet up with hunter alone. I would have preferred her to be a little more cautious and maybe get tricked like a real world woman than for her to be like okay cuz plot! It makes her seem desperate and ditzy.

Great narrators!

Walker Williams and Maeve York did a great job bringing these characters to life. The story was simple to follow and could have easily been made into a full novel.

It had potential; male narrator was terrible

The male narrator's voice was so awful, I almost couldn't finish this short story. His attempt to sound "dark and menacing" was ridiculous. The femal narrator was fabulous, though. There was plenty of spice, and it was dark (which is fine), but there wasn't a whole lot of substance to the plot. I actually think that if it had been a full-length novel, with more character development and more elaboration, it could have been a great book.
