Likewise, the nearness of feelings, for example, love, reliability and trust can mean we don’t see the truth of other individuals’ concealed plans. It’s anything but difficult to be attracted.

Life happens. You can’t control every factor that brings about the chain of events you experience. What you can control are your emotions and reactions, and this makes it impossible for your circumstances to dictate your experience of life. This is the central philosophy of stoicism…and you’re about to unlock its potential to transform your experience. This guide will be by your side every step of the way. If your life feels out of control right now, it’s time to make a change. And that change doesn’t mean trying to control what’s happening to you.

If you look at it superficially, in respect to machines, it is safe to say that any change in the structure of the machine, the data stored in the memory or its data composition, in order to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of the machine’s performance is an undeniable sign of learning in a machine. When you start to delve deeper into this subject, only a couple of these changes can be categorized as machine learning.

Publisher's summary
This book explores in detail everything there is to know about building clean software architecture.
Usually, when we talk about software architecture, what comes to mind is a good working system. We concentrate more on the function of the software than the structure. The structure of the system is treated as an inconsequential part of the software development process. In relation to this, business managers and stakeholders believe that clean software is working software. The truth is that a system works well does not mean it is a clean one.
In this book, software architecture is explored from its two most significant qualities: structure and behavior. The structure of the software plays an important role in software development; it determines the behavior of the software. The structure covers modules, functions, classes, services, and boundaries and encompasses the system itself. But most times, developers often make the mistake of concentrating more on the behavior of the system while the structure comes last.
This action has contributed to most of the problems we have in software development today. This book explains why the structure of the software should come before the behavior. It provides a step by step guide to creating flexible software that will be susceptible to change when the need be. It looks at the various principles guiding software design. These principles range from dependencies, component coupling, component cohesion, to the classes of elements contained in a software and how these elements can be separated from each other. The principles serve as a guideline to creating clean software.
Explanation of the difference between a working architecture and a clean architecture is given. Clean software runs smoothly and has a longer lifespan than working software. The book guides programmers on the foundation and the building blocks to creating clean software. Also, developers are guided on how to make their system obey the rules of testability. Clean software is testable software.

The grid is an accident of history and of culture, in no way intrinsic to how we produce, deliver and consume electrical power. Yet this is the system the United States ended up with, a jerry-built structure now so rickety and near collapse that a strong wind or a hot day can bring it to a grinding halt. The grid is now under threat from a new source: renewable and variable energy, which puts stress on its logics as much as its components.

Story
In Glow Kids, Dr. Nicholas Kardaras will examine how technology - more specifically, age-inappropriate screen tech, with all of its glowing ubiquity - has profoundly affected the brains of an entire generation. Brain imaging research is showing that stimulating glowing screens are as dopaminergic (dopamine activating) to the brain’s pleasure center as sex. And a growing mountain of clinical research correlates screen tech with disorders like ADHD, addiction, anxiety, depression, increased aggression, and even psychosis.

Steven Levy's classic book traces the exploits of the computer revolution's original hackers - those brilliant and eccentric nerds from the late 1950s through the early '80s who took risks, bent the rules, and pushed the world in a radical new direction. With updated material from noteworthy hackers such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Stallman, and Steve Wozniak, Hackers is a fascinating story that begins in early computer research labs and leads to the first home computers.

Story
Artificial intelligence does the seemingly impossible - driving cars, trading stocks, and teaching children. But facing the sea change that AI will bring can be paralyzing. How should companies set strategies, governments design policies, and people plan their lives for a world so different from what we know? In Prediction Machines, three eminent economists recast the rise of AI as a drop in the cost of prediction. With this single, masterful stroke, they lift the curtain on the AI-is-magic hype and show how basic tools from economics provide clarity about the AI revolution and a basis for action by CEOs, managers, policy makers, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Story
On May 31, 2014, in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha, Wisconsin, two 12-year-old girls attempted to stab their classmate to death. Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier’s violence was extreme, but what seemed even more frightening was that they committed their crime under the influence of a figure born by the internet: the so-called “Slenderman”. Yet the even more urgent aspect of the story, that the children involved suffered from undiagnosed mental illnesses, often went overlooked in coverage of the case.
