Easily one of the best Goosebumps stories there is! Good listen and enjoyed bringing back the memories of my childhood haha.

Nostalgia isn't everything.

I was about 10 when the Goosebumps books first released, and they were HUGE. They were the hardest books to get in both the school and city libraries, and everyone in my class raved about them, including me.

It was probably those fond memories (and a substantial sale price) the led me to buy a couple of them, for old time's sake.

I don't regret buying or listening to this, but boy, have things changed. I remember this being a tense, rollicking thrill ride... And perhaps it really was, to a kid of ten or twelve... But to a guy now entering middle age, it didn't hold the same magic.

Yes, I realize this probably shouldn't have come as a surprise to me.

Anyway, kids might still probably find this fun and entertaining. For my part, it was still a fun little trip down memory lane, but it didn't have much to offer me, except nostalgia.

This is my first time hearing a book narrated by Kirby Heyborne. He did a commendable job, injecting the material with emotion, and reads in a way that should make it easier for kids to follow along.

Ending

Was not too big of the climax, or the "twist" every book has at the end. Out of the first five stories I'd say this was the weakest one.

Completely inappropriate for children

Extremely disturbing details of being burned alive, kidnapped, and “mummified” . We have enjoyed many goosebumps stories but this one is delves into topics and destructions that are even upsetting to adults. Don’t recommend at all.
