About this listen

For three years, Rixon Caldwell has been the most lethal gamer online. He is undefeated in international play, and his stream is viewed by millions of avid fans each and every day.

When an unsigned email arrives inviting him to beta test the newest, most immersive MMO ever, Circuit World, he discounts the offer out of hand. For him, offers like this one are a daily event. He’s a brand, and charity is not his default setting.

When he moves to delete the email, his laptop screen vanishes, replaced with a glowing black and green MS DOS screen with a simple question: Do you accept our challenge? Y/N

Warning: This audiobook contains nontraditional relationships, violence, and a harem.

Stale characters, but good story

The overall story is entertaining, but the characters are all flat and two dimensional. The main character is shallow and undergoes no growth or character development,. I can forgive the NPC women just 'being attracted' to the main character with no reason or stages of affection, as they are programed characters.

Overall, I'm not regretting listening to the book, but I hope the author undergoes some growth with their writing and keeps trying.

Too short

I really like the stories Mr. Pierce weaves but they’re just too short for full price. I have to work a 10 hour shift and that’s about the minimum run time on audiobooks that I purchase. If they combined tow or three of Daniel’s books into a single purchase I would buy them all.

That being said, this is a really good take on the “sucked into a VRMMO” genre. I really enjoyed the freshness of it and unlike some of the others the romantic scenes weren’t overly blown out or so often that the action and storyline wasn’t just porn filler.

Austin did a great job on all the different voices and was able to hang with most of the jargon. I will be looking for more of his narrations in the future.

it wasn't bad

it wasn't bad, no clue what's going on from the beginning to the end but hey, there's sex. Not very good sex and any answers you have will never be answered as this beginning of a series is also the last as the writer disappeared into the nether.

Like A Classic

Pierce writes with a classical voice, fun main character, easy to follow yet entertaining plot, reasonably detailed settings and social environment, and overall in an enchanting tale of adventure conveyed in a contemporary game genre. For a fun romp, it's well worth the read!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Amazing!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book is based on the fantastic idea of being in a video game. I'm certainly not a gamer, but the vivid world depicted within this story sucked me right in. Each character has been carefully crafted to fit into not only the virtual plot, but also so that they make the overall storyline fast paced, fun, and non-stop action, and I don't mean just fighting action. You'll want to put down your game controller and pick up this whole series instead.

Low-budget overall!

Rixon Caldwell, aka “Si1ence”, is an internationally famous gamer. His streaming video game reviews have garnered millions of avid viewers. He is mysteriously challenged to beta test a new MMORPG and accepts the challenge. No instructions, no character creation, and no idea what to do or where to go. Si1ence believes he is in a cutting-edge virtual reality game but as time goes on, he begins to doubt. The story is limited with game mechanics, occasionally delivering some experience, a skill, or a level up. It just barely rates the LitRPG genre. IMO the story is light in character building, world-building, or any kind of building. The character interactions and conversations are on the light side as well. It has a low-budget feeling overall.
