About this listen

When a camping trip uncovers a murder, this amateur sleuth is stuck putting out the fire....

Marty Golden enjoys time with his nieces, but he wanted to spend the weekend with his new girlfriend - not chaperone a Girl Scout camping trip. Once he stumbles upon the corpse of a friend in the woods, the outdoors adventure becomes an open-air disaster. When the police label it an accidental death, the meticulous Marty vows to investigate the murder. After all, it's poor manners to let your friend's death go unsolved.

On the hunt for clues the cops ignored, Marty uncovers a disturbing connection to himself. And as he digs deeper, a misbehaving pup, a kooky cousin, and a maniacal ninja put his survival skills to the test.

Will Marty unravel the mystery before the killer, or his imagination, gets to him?

Love this book - what a funny mystery!

The only thing better than this fantastically funny mystery by Marc Jedel is the delivery of the story with the masterful voices of BJ Harrison. Favorite quirky characters return in this second book, while super fun new characters are introduced to make this book my new favorite. Can't wait to listen to book 3.

Funny and Entertaining

I don't usually enjoy silly cozy mysteries, but this one is highly entertaining. Marty's antics are incredibly silly and fun. I love his interactions with Mace Johnson and his nieces. There are several twists and turns and lots of humor in the story. It deserves 5 stars or more. I look forward to the next book.

Walter Mitty rides once too often

An enjoyable read but proof that there can be too much of a good thing. The characters are likable though the fantasies become over heated, too frequent and less amusing with time. The story is still fun. Even with the what faults I found, the ebook is worth your time as the performance is excellent with distinctive voices for each character.

Marty's an idiot!

It's hard to listen to Marty's mind fly onto all kinds of stupid theories that he then acts upon, even though he's supposed to be an intelligent engineer.
