About this listen

Join us for Christmas in the Cotswolds in this perfect festive escape, from the best-selling Lucy Coleman.

Imogen Tolliman never knew her mother. And when an accident robs Immi of her father too, she goes to live with her grandfather Tollie in his picturesque lock-keeper’s cottage by the Aysbury marina.

Tollie is the star of the Santa Ahoy Special each Christmas - a festive boat ride along the canal that enthralls both children and adults alike. And as Immi grows up, she starts to appreciate the magical community she is lucky enough to live in.

When Immi meets Gray Adams, she instantly realises he’s someone special. And as their relationship gets serious, they start to plan for the Christmas to beat all Christmases.

But as the day approaches, and the romantic snow showers turn into blizzards, their dream of a Christmas to remember looks set to be one they’ll never forget - for all the wrong reasons. Can they salvage the festivities, or will old secrets that are finally uncovered turn Immi’s life upside down forever?

Let Lucy Coleman transport you away to a dreamy Cotswolds Christmas full of snowflakes and secrets, log fires, mistletoe, friends and much-loved traditions. Perfect for all fans of Trisha Ashley, Holly Martin and Sue Moorcroft.

This was a very very boring story with really no redeeming qualities. I have enjoyed several of her other works though. I finished this but I don't really know why. Nothing ever happened.

Not her finest work.

Such a sweet story with Christmas as the backdrop. It describes the journey finding strength in the midst of life's storms. There is always hope & possibility. You just have to believe...

Sweet

I enjoyed listening until the end with the chapter, Grey.
The change to male reader after the rest of the book didn't fit and for me through off the story's end.
As for the rest of the book, it was enjoyable. I loved the characters and the giving spirit and relationships.
A good and happy read.

To start with the story was written to a more traditional set of values I dont share and that made it hard for me to relate to and engage with the story. None of the challenges felt like challenges and none of the triumphs felt like triumphs. In addition to this the put on accents for many of the supporting characters were poor, distracting and dropped fairly often.

Mediocre at best

Lovely performance, easy to love characters, and a heart warming ending. Quite enjoyable as the Christmas and New Year approach!

An Easy Pleasant Listen

this book is one novel containing several stories within it. the author captures the emotions of characters with insight I don't often see. somehow these bruised and battered people learn to live, and even heal, within the confines of a small village full of friends and family. one lesson we are reminded of is thatvsometimes we just have to accept car mustaches and move forward. and moving forward is shown as a positive and good action.

easiest 5 stars to give.

sometimes Christmas fiction is predictable to the point of insulting. Not this book. enjoyable real-life cgaracters and an above average story w/ Christmas used as a backdrop instead of trying to put it front and center. will read more books ny this author
