Margot and James are broken up—for good this time. James made sure of it when he dropped the bomb on Margot: that he doesn’t want kids, ever.

Then, on the biggest morning of his life, James—an ambitious lawyer at a high-powered firm—wakes up pregnant. He realizes with dread that he is part of a recent epidemic of men suddenly and inexplicably becoming pregnant. His condition obvious to the higher-ups, James is denied the promotion he was expecting, sending him reeling.

Meanwhile, Margot, a social worker, must handle the influx of desperate, pregnant teenage boys suddenly seeking her help. When she receives a call from James with the same problem, the challenge of navigating post-Roe America hits even closer to home.

Dear Listener,

"Ever since hearing about the imminent overturn of Roe v. Wade, I have struggled to find a way to do more than rage against the system. I did what I always do when I’m upset—I wrote. But that wasn’t enough, and Audible understood my urgency to make an actual difference. To that end, I have donated Audible’s payment to me for this story entirely to the National Network of Abortion Funds, which remove logistical and financial barriers to abortion in a multitude of states where access to abortion is restricted or banned. Please listen, and tell your friends to listen, and if you are so inclined, donate to a fund of your own choosing that will continue to help women make choices about their own bodies." – Jodi Picoult, writer of Choice

Masterful

Please listen and tell your friends to listen. As a mother grandmother and long time pro-choice activist, I have been feeling burned out on the news. This made me laugh and see things from a different perspective.
Thank you to the author and all involved in this production.

If Only

In light of recent events, this would be the only circumstance that would change the minds of those who would deny women bodily autonomy.

Thank you Jodi

Thank you Jodi for speaking up, for writing a book that is so in tune with the things this world is going through, thank you for speaking for many women who feel unseen.

Choice, is a book that creates a world where Men start to wake up one day pregnant and don't know what to do, experiencing the daily problems women go through in life when they found out they're pregnant such as being fired from their work, your partner rejecting you because he is not ready to be a father, in this case, he is not ready to be pregnant and so on.

This is a book that even if is a story sheds so much light on how women constantly are being told what to do and what not to do with their own lives and bodies.

Narrations by Therese Plummer were great

short but straight to the point.

Insightful

What a brilliant peek into an alternate, but truthful reality. It really allows you to jump into the shows of others, even for a short time. Brilliant, as usual, Jodi.

Thank you Jodi.

The book was well written and the story well performed. I've been struggling to be able to voice my never ending wide range of emotions since Abbott passed the 6 week ban and all the events unfolding thereafter. I had tears or outright sobbed listening to most of these stories and how relatable they are either for myself and many of the women I know. The teen pregnancies, the abuse victims, the broken condom, the passed promotions and lower pay, the judgement regardless if the intercourse was consensual or not, the inability to possibly save your own life with access to a timely D&C procedure in the event of miscarriage... absolutely ALL OF IT. Thank you for using your platform and speaking up.

P.S. Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz and any/every other white cismale that thinks they/their beliefs have any rights to OUR bodies can kindly eat a satchel of Richard's.

Eye opener!

I am shocked by myself, how this short story gave me an “ahh” moment. This should be share with all men so they could have the slightest peek into a woman’s body choices. Thank you for your creativity and for sharing. Therese of course did an awesome job. God is love not an idiot. The law makers don’t belong in our tragic decision making. Thank you!

makes you think

Another fabulous story by Jodi! Really makes you stop and think about the different laws that are made and would they be made if they applied to everyone.
