About this listen

From the author of Coyote comes a reimagining of Robert Browning's classic poem "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came".

A would-be knight arrives at the infamous Dark Tower that he swore to find. Inside lies a game that causes Childe Roland to reflect on the oaths he took. When dark sorcery forces past regrets to come to light, the game becomes that of life and death. Childe Roland's fate hangs in the balance, but perhaps that fate was decided long ago.

interesting after being a fan of Stephen King's dark tower series

it's very fascinating the similarities and differences between this and Stephen King's 9-11 book series I am a huge fan of Stephen King's version but this one also holds up extremely well and I thoroughly enjoyed it, also amazing to find dark somnium here on audible

The Dark Tower calls

I found this to be a beautifully grim portrayal of life and its consequences, the things we want to do, the things we have to do even when we don’t want to, and the mistakes we later mull over, framed in an archaic period but without losing its relevancy to the human condition.

My only slight qualm with this story was I found myself a little lost at one or two parts, but from another perspective, I feel like that’s also because of how immersive I found it.

Can’t recommend this enough!
