About this listen

Stuck at a dead-end job with three children and an inconsiderate live-in boyfriend, life is anything but sweet for self-proclaimed black sheep and underachiever, Shequita Stafford. Following an altercation at work, Shequita is forced to return to her hometown of Travilah, Maryland. Shequita soon discovers that her successful siblings and business-oriented parents aren't as perfect as she'd always perceived them to be.

Great Story

I thought the narrator did a great job relating this story. Chikita is relatable and tells a great story of people living their truth regardless of what others may think. I appreciate Bien-Aime's stories because they all have lessons that readers can take away that they can apply due to their grounded nature. Kudos!

Loved it

I loved the realness of this particular story. Every family has its scars and bandages and I love how it was told here. Bravo to the author.
