To save those he holds closest to his heart, Gunther soon finds himself opposing criminals more menacing than any he has ever encountered.

Love this particular book!! So much more going on with family depth

Great Joe Gunther!

This Gunther seemed really fresh & engaging ... a little resistant to the new love interest at first (after a few raised eyebrows), but the idea grew on me, especially the more I heard Gail's voice (apologies to Tom Taylorson - I do love the sounds of your Male characters!) An attack on Joe's Mom & brother, as well as the take down of some Internet predators; travel around the state of Vermont and a great mixture of old & new characters rounded this out - Great!

Another fine case

This series is almost like a tv series. I’ve come to expect certain things from the characters and haven’t been disappointed

The story is a good one. Tom brings the story alive with his many voices for the characters. Thank you for a great story and a great narrator.

Enjoy this series very much. My fav go to.

I always check out the narrator’s voice before I try a book and this one is great. He makes the main character come into view. I enjoy the characters the author brings into each story and this one was no exception.

The gangs all here!

I have enjoyed all the books in this series, though some more than others, and this one was a welcome return of loved characters, The storyline was good, and I was happy to see the return of a character I hoped would show up again...maybe permanently this time.

Joe Gunther Bk 18

I was new to Joe Gunther mysteries //Archer Mayor and began listening with book 1. I was captivated by the character building of all the individuals in the series. I almost feel like I know each of their doppelgangers in my own life. As I was saying I began with book 1 and became so entrenched in the Joe Gunther mysteries I binged listened to all 32 books with fascination, escape, and enjoyment. I love the less than perfect characters, the thought processes each character manipulates and how each struggle with mental demons (some more than others) that make them real and come to life. I am also really impressed that not one of Mr Mayor’s stories (of all 32 books) repeat themselves in story line which is a impressive feat. My only disappointment is the next book isn’t out until Sept 2022.

Suspenseful , well written and held my interest to the very end! This is a wonderful author!

Archer Does It Again

This series doesn’t require a credit, so I have listened to most of these books in order; the crimes all tend to meld together, but what I love is the steadfast characters and the narration. The main characters are now familiar to me and I am invested in what becomes of them; their complicated lives, depth of character and their individual growth is what appeals most to me. I also love the use of Virginia as a character all its’ own. Great job from the talented cast of narrators who bring each character to life. Love this series!

Just as engaging as ever!

The characters are like old friends — I laugh and feel their ups and downs. The plot is as twisting and unique as I’ve grown to expect.
