Saga concluded. Great Journey!

Frank Herbert, what a mind he had. This saga was a discourse on humanity, and I have been made more by taking the journey with him. Well done.

Meandering conclusion, still Dune

Not as strong as the first in this reboot trilogy, but necessary to complete the original Dune saga. Ever forward does the universe churn.

Simon Vance as always is spectacular, but I did find the multitude of narrators distracting at times even though I’m familiar enough with this series to know what’s going on. Individually they are all talented, but the sudden changes with the same characters and often time different pronunciations can be confusing.

Stunning Ending to the Dune Saga

No Spoiler--
This is a satisfying ending.

I have learned a great deal about the inner workings & reason for secret societies through my immersion in the Dune series.
Don't forget, Herbert was a true Adept.

Learn & understand much from his tales of a few learned, a few highly evolved & Knowing Witches standing in the background, paring their nails.

Nothing is as it seems, apparently.

Bravo!

great series good readers

I love this series! Frank Herbert writes wonderfully and it is greatness!
the narrators are good. it takes some getting used to as they rotate chapters versus voicing specific characters but it is a great book!

What to do with my life now that it's over?

Simon Vance is always superb. The other narrators pale in comparison.

I can never bring myself to read the books that Herbert's son went on to write. The mastery of emotional imagery is unmatched. This is my second trip to Dune. I look forward to the next time life brings me here.

Dune Saga is amazing!

I absolutely loved all the narrations from the previous books. Haven’t heard/read Chapterhouse yet but I’m sure it’ll be good. I read a review that the narration was horrible and ruined the entire series. Clearly whom ever said that really didn’t read or enjoy the entire series because if you hate the narration THAT much then just read an actual copy for yourself… why let someone’s way of reading a story ruin the entire story for you? I don’t know… people are just entitled and ignorant I guess. I just can’t believe you leave a review about an amazing story just because you didn’t like the voice of someone reading it… but ok everyone’s entitled to their opinions. Who am I to judge right.. like I said get a hard copy and read it for yourself. Sitting there reviewing one of the best stories in a negative way. SMH

My favorite of the series

Personally, this was my favorite book of the Dune series. I didn’t think it would be able to top Dune Messiah or Heretics of Dune, but it combines the best of both worlds. Plenty of action and intrigue. I personally love Simon Vance as Duncan and Miles, he truly encapsulates the Mentat aspect of these characters. I’ve also been wary id Katherine Kellgren in the past but in these previous 2 books she has outdone herself. She sounds almost exactly how one would expect a reverend mother to sound, and her work as The Spider Queen is just phenomenal. Longest book review i’ve written and for good reason. 10/10 must listen.

Writer's Melancholy, Frank Herbert's Goodbye

A great finish to one of the best series ever made. The last of the books certainly get cerebral, with Frank testing the limits of what can be explored with the series. The only part that distracts from it all is some of the pronunciations (Honored Mater instead of Honored Matre' and Futas and Futars)
